• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I did a quick search and did not find anything on this issue, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

For the first year or so, the navi on my 2022 EX-P worked perfectly, both from keyboard input and voice command, but over the last several months has had several issues. One is that it no longer recognizes any voice direction. Any voice commands to route to an address or POI result in a few minutes of fruitless searching. The end result is always that both the screen and audio then suggest various categories of unrelated places that I may want to navigate to, but not any locations.

Putting an address in manually is now effective perhaps 50% of the time. It also takes much, much longer for the system to find addresses than was the case the past. It's not uncommon for the system to take 2 or more minutes to find something like a local Costco, but at least half the time, it simply returns a message saying that the address is not recognized. This is the case even for places that are in the nav history (though if that address is selected from the history list, the system will then map it).

Just lately, the map system has been freezing up with an already plotted route when underway. The map simply stops working, with the display frozen with the information it was previously displaying. It does not respond to the touch screen, nor is there a response to the map or guidance buttons. The radio and other manual buttons work, and those systems continue to function normally; only the map is unresponsive. However, I'm unable to move anything on the display - everything is static in their previous locations on the display. The system resets after 20 or so minutes after the ignition is turned off, and functions more or less normally (subject to the issues outlined above).

While this may not be related, all of this happened after the "Prevention Logic Improvement" update to the FCA was done a few months back.

Any thoughts?

Did you continue with your Kia Connect service? From what I've read in other posts, this seemed to start happening after people let their Kia Connect service expire.

Technically yes, but you only get 6 months of Kia Connect gratis, and this didn't start happening until relatively recently, more than 6 months after dropping the service.

You get one year for free. So did you just hit your one year mark since you got the car?

Sorry, thought it was 6 months (rarely used it). My one-year mark was last September and the navi issues started in October, just after the FCA update was done.

I'd hope it's not the case that the only fix for the issue is to re-subscribe to Kia Connect.
