• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Navigation system problem

I’m trying to find this info but I can’t. I need instructions to disable uvo for navigations please. I’ve just read the whole manual and can’t find it.... I’m sure I’m missing it, and it’s me, but I need a dumb down version🤗😬

Settings > Voice recognition

A photo example in the post in a different thread below. Although some have claimed not to have the option to disable UVO network and others said a more permanent solution was to update the UVO software.

Updating software can be done using either of the two websites.

Just took the telluride to the dealership for Navigation issues for the third time since I've owned the vehicle. Overall, my family likes the vehicle but this navigation issue killing it. Although, we have capable smartphones, it's much easier to interact with the navigation and we don't have to fumble around with a phon. Hence the reason, we paid the extra bucks for the GPS system. The dealership had the Telluride for about 5 hours. They said one of their techs troubleshooted the system and performed and upgrade, and that it should be working. I came back within 15 minutes after driving off the lot. The customer service reps at the dealership troubleshot the issue for about 15 minutes, stating that it was maybe a Settings issue, they then reset the system, and conclusively decided it wasn't working. 4th appointment for this system in two days. I am not sure why it keeps failing. (Yes, I am talking about the integrated GPS system of the vehicle, not a smartphone app :)

Can you describe the problem?

When I go to type an address, it doesn’t find it. It finds places of interest or something similar, if I choose one of those locations, that doesn’t perform a mapping either, almost as if the GPS is broken. The addresses that I had programmed from before this issue work still as they are save as my favorites or previous destination. The dealership reps tried typing the address and dictating the dealership I was in but that didn’t work.

I did get the gps to work if I told it “Find an address in California,” then it would ask me to tell it the adress and that worked. Before this issue, I would state “Directions to + an address,” and the gps system would take me there. However, this seems counterintuitive and time consuming as how it used to be. How bizarre. The typing of an address into the system doesn’t work, not matter what I have tried and the dealer reps. However, my old 2015 Kia Optima has a GPS, and while I can’t talk to it, when I type an address, it works.

This sounds like the same issue all other owners are experiencing when their UVO subscription runs out. Some have reported going into settings and disabling UVO from the Voice Recognition settings got GPS navigation to work.

Others sais the only way was to update the head unit software. Which is free to do at Official Kia Motors Navigation Update Website. But you will need a USB flash drive with at least 32GB capactiy and a computer to transfer the files to the USB drive.

Or order a pre-loaded USB drive from mapnsoft.com or have the dealer install.

Take a photo of your software version and post it here for more help.

So resetting the system did nothing, it still will not recognize any address entered. If i do offline search,it will pick up major places or things stored in system, but not local roads, etc. And my Waze works perfectly through Android auto, but still like to have nav system as a backup. I guess this will be the first issue that i go back to dealer about...
I am having the same issue.

Push the setup button then go to voice recognition. The UVO network button will be checked...unchecked it and you won't be using the UVO network

Did your UVO subscription recently expire? Try following instructions mentioned in this thread to disable UVO for navigation if so. Should restore nav functions if this is your case.

Same problem . Was just told by kia that you need ultimate uvo package for nav to find addresses.

Only if you are trying to use internet search for a POI or using voice recognition search function would require a paid subscription.

If you know the address you want to start route guidance to or want to find a POI pre-loaded with the maps in the software, no paid subscription needed. But if you are on an older software version, you may need to update to regain that function when UVO subscription expires. My previous post on this thread explains how to update it yourself for free.

I have the EVO Plus subscription and I updated the navigation software to the most current version and my navigation still does not work. I was told by the Kia dealership that you do need the paid EVO subscription and have the most recent navigation software as Kia will disable the navigation if you let it go un-updated. I am suspecting that you do need the Ultimate EVO subscription. I have called Kia and EVO customer service and have yet to get a straight answer.
