• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi I just got my 2022 Telly a week and half ago and I just installed oem roof rack bars in the recommended spots in stated in the installation manual. I then put on a medium yakima off grid with an extension. From what I can find on the offgrid is that I cannot put the clamps on the middle extension part so where it sits is the farthest back it can go on the roof basket.

I think it looks too far forward on the car. Does anyone else have this setup or does anyone ever move the factory cross bars back a foot or so?

If you are trying to accomplish for the rack to be center to the car you can definitely move the roof cross bars a foot back. Nothing wrong with adjusting them to where you need them as long as the Yakima is properly attached to the roof cross bars.

I’ll give it a shot by moving the rear bar back a foot or so tomorrow, which should allow the rack to go rearward. I was a little worried as this car is so new and the instructions for the cross bars were so precise on where to put them and didn’t mention anything about a wiggle room or anything. I definitely didn’t want to goof anything up.

No worries you can definitely position them to where you need or think they should be as long as whatever you are strapping on too if attached still safely. Maybe someone else with this kind of set up can chime in soon👍

I have this exact same setup that I installed on Sunday. I moved the setup about 3" to the back and also added some extra space in-between the two crossbars so it doesn't look too close to the center of the basket. I'm also not a tall person so I wanted to make sure I can access the basket locks/adjustments from the second row steps by not moving it too far back.

Overall, I don't notice much wind noise when the windows are closed. I haven't placed any load on top though.

Fantastic! I was hoping someone had a similar setup and thank for responding to this thread!

Did you take off the basket every time you adjusted the cross bars or did you just start with them farther back and more spread out? I only ask as the basket is super heavy to move

I would think you just need to adjust it and set it up to your liking the first time. Then like Ron Popeil said “Set it and forget it”😁

Just finished and I think I got it exactly where I think it looks good. I moved the rear back 8 inches and left the front where Kia thinks it should be. the front of the basket is pretty much in the center of the sunroof which I’m hoping with lesson potential wind noise and 2 inches in front of the shark antenna the back. Thanks all for the advice.

Looks much better! 👍

Can you carry skis and snowboard on the basket?

This is a long shot but anyone knows if OE bars work with Yakima mighty mount 10V?

I am trying to purchase Yakima cross bars to make sure they work with the 10V but their web site is so confusing as what I need to buy. And customer service is terrible.

Just the person I wanted to speak with. Just got me a new 2022 Telluride EX. Thinking about going one of two ways, but I'm thinking yours is the best.

First question, and really isn't a functionality thing, just a curious thing. Do you have a Sunroof? If so, anyways you can take a picture from the cabin up? Cosmetic, really doesn't matter, just curiosity. Now to the important questions....

Before I came across the Offgrid (Large) setup I was looking at the RidgeLine System with the 60" JetStream Black crossbars. I was thinking of the BigStack to carry possibly two WW kayaks sometimes up top and a SkinnyWarrior rack up top.

Then I came across the OffGrid. It looks like the BigStack along with many other Yak Rack's equipment would/could mount to the OffGrid system too. I am just trying to verify that, if you know. If it is, I should be able to use the BigStack on the OffGrid's bars up top, so sometimes, I could have the entire cargo space up top, then others, after putting two kayaks on, the OffGrid would almost be like the Skinny Warrior with the space left over. Does that make sense?

Thoughts, inputs from anyone? I have three boys, so need as much cabin room as possible, I already have a FourTimer for the hitch, so all the bikes are taken care of.
