which model did you go with? I live here in Tucson and I’m working with Royal Kia as well.. I’m getting ready to submit my order tomorrow.. they said $300 to save my car.. and it’s the 2021 LX AWD at MSRP without markup.. they told me expected ETA is 8/6 or 8/13...

Mind sharing how much? I saw Lawley had one on their website. Wasn’t sure if it was worth calling and heading down there.. was it over MSRP? They have a LX model in coming 7/30 at Jim Click Kia but there’s a $3k “market adjustment” and with addons they’re asking $40,063 plus tax, title, license, registration, and doc fees

it was at MSRP but they zinged me with a couple of add ons. Jim Click is the worst!

Is the $300 deposit refundable or non-refundable? I've been in contact with Royal Kia as well. They asked for a $1,000 non-refundable deposit for a special order.

Supposed to be $3000 sorry.. i missed a 0.. and it’s not a special order.. just to claim one of the two incoming Tellurides that haven’t been claimed yet.. I was supposed to put my order in today but of course the guy was out of office until tomorrow.. are you in Tucson too? With All these SoAz Telluride owners well have to start a new club.

Oh and I’ll be honest I don’t know if it’s refundable or not.. I assumed it was since @Dixiedrew said he cancelled his order at Royal and went to Sierra Vista, but I’ll confirm.. Jim click on the other hand requires a $1000 non refundable fee for any of their Tellurides that has not yet arrived

i had a deposit on a Telluride for 2 months..I had a specific one with Vin# too...
they claimed it would arrive by 18June and then when the date came they said the queue list was all messed up because of the 2021 models will be replacing all the previous 2020 that haven’t delivered yet...
blah blah blah

so i canceled my deposit and got my money back.
few days later they called me that they had the Telluride i’ve been looking for. What a coincidence

i believe most dealers have a waiting list and when the cars show up they sell to walk ins instantly

during this wait they had called me that they had a gravity gray SX..not even an hour passed it was already sold. I didn’t even get a chance to go see it. They did not offer that one or the one I ended up getting to anyone on queue list/ waiting list.

Waiting list folks should be priority but it seems that’s not the way some dealers are doing it.

regardless if they sell them at msrp...

those dealers are getting buyers with other things (trade ins, ext warranty, etc) to mark up a slight bit while keeping the sales and demand still going

That makes more sense. Good luck I hope you can snag it! I'm actually in CA. Like everyone else it seems - I'm having to shop further and further from home to avoid these crazy markups.

Tell me about it.. I’m from San Diego just moved here to AZ last year.. I went back home last month and the prices were crazy.. my friends from San Diego just came out here to AZ to buy a new truck last month.. Good luck!

So I got the paperwork drawn up today and of course they slipped in a couple of addons.. does anything look wrong with this? I haven’t signed yet.. i have no idea what non tax fees are.. lol 2021 LX AWD

Looks like they're trying to take you for nearly $2000 of markup - $1200 for a "protection package - maybe $15 of products - and tint (all but front windows are tinted from factory). Non tax fees is probably just dealer markup. Could be part of a lease fee if you were intending to lease (but that is $650 from Kia). Walk away - you can find an LX for lower markup than that. Try Halleen Kia in OH. They had an incoming AWD.

I questioned them about the “advanced” surface protect.. he said “surface protect is a coating on the entire exterior of the vehicles that warranties paint for life, head lights will never fog up, and also covers the upholstery in the car forever as well.” Lol doesn’t sound too advanced.. and if they haven’t even received the vehicle yet I should be able to tell them I don’t want it.. i also questioned the tint and non tax fees and he said “Non tax is a guess from the computer what 1 year of registration would be, and tint is all the windows including front driver and passenger”

Yeah, I actually had a manager tell me that it was taking a little extra time to tint my whole vehicle because they had to remove the tint that was already on it to make it darker... I said well he's just tinting over the factory tint... the glass is tinted from factory, there's no film. He was perplexed. Anything to justify that $300 charge. I agreed to pay it - and had them tint all the windows (darkening factory tint and the front two). I'd ask them to tint your windshield also - per state laws.

$755 for registration would be very high I think.

They actually called me about an hour ago and said that they got a 2020 LX FWD in today that I can come get if I want. It’s ebony black.. not sure if it’s worth it, or just waiting for the 20201 LX AWD in everlasting silver instead.. Aside from the AWD/FWD, is there anything significantly different?
