Hi everyone, my name is Gary, and I always try and join the forum for the new car that I purchased. I have to say, I am so far extremely pleased with the Telluride. I got a 2024 SX Prestige X Line in Dawning Red with terracotta leather. I'm looking forward to getting to know as many owners as possible and finding out the good, the bad and hopefully not the ugly sides of the KIA Telluride. LOL
Anyhow, I read my first post on installing a trailer hitch and I think that will be my first project. I'm semi handy and I don't need the lighting package because I'm going to use it for our bike rack.

Welcome to the forum Gary! I have the same model in blue and have had it for nearly 5 months and love it. I get lots of compliments on the interior with the terracotta leather. We load our bikes on it regularly via a trailer hitch mounted bike rack. It works great, the only pain is having to shut off all of the "nannies" when the rack is on the back of the car as you can't back up without the auto-braking slamming on the brakes due to detecting something behind the vehicle.

Thank you and can I ask if your trailer hitch was factory installed or aftermarket? I wanted a Dawning Red with the factory trailer hitch but with the year-end pricing, couldn't find one before the lease specials were up at the end of July. Hey quick question, have you had any issues with either Android auto or wireless Apple Car Play? I can't seem to get it to work even with the cables.

My hitch is the factory installed hitch. If buying one aftermarket, I would buy a Curt trailer hitch - I've installed one in my last two vehicles.

I use Apple and the Telluride does not come with wireless Apple CarPlay. Wired CarPlay only works off of the USB-A connector in the front console under the HVAC buttons. You have to have a cable that is not just a charging cable, but also passes signals. If you want wireless, you need to purchase an aftermarket device such as the CarlinKit 5.0.

Thank you, I've heard so many different stories on Apple CarPlay and none had worked. Hopefully, a new dedicated data cable will work.
