If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... New K&N Air Filter

Just installed mine. DIY write up hopefully coming later tonight. First impression of the intake: “throaty”
Can't wait to hear all about it. Thanks

Need audio clip

So first mechanic says they don’t install performance parts and second one says this will void the warranty. Thoughts?

Check out k and n website. There is actually a law passed specifically for this. It doesn't void the warranty. Other than that someone on this post did a very detailed install process which he said was straightforward. Good luck

Yes. If you go to K&N's website, go to the very bottom of the page to "New Products" Scroll to October 30th and it lists this. Part number is 77-5300KS. HP Gain is 12.73 HP @ 4493 RPM. I'm hoping there is an AEM version, as they will have the DryFlow Filters that don't need oiled.
Any updates here? I'm curious if this is worth picking up. Glad to see K&N is making parts for the Telluride.

Yes click on his name and look at his posts. He made a very detailed install of this with a quick audio video as well. Good read

First long road trip with the K&N air filter (not air intake). Traveled 5 hours averaging mostly 76-79 mph highway miles and got about 27mpg on my FWD S with K&N. On Smart Cruise Control and when off SCC using Smart Driving Mode.1607903570344.webp

Nothing on the roof nor hanging off the hitch. 1 driver, 4 passengers, 2 medium sized suitcases and a couple other bags.

Any changes in sound? Thanks

No noticeable changes in sound on the air filter. Sounds pretty much stock.

But I’m sure that replacing the box with an air intake would give a throatier sound. I just don’t trust myself and would probably rev extra and waste gas.

With just the air filter, a heavy foot that takes 'Smart' mode into 'Sport' is reminiscent of the old days of turning the air filter cover upside down on my OHC straight six Pontiac... a bit of a growl...

Normal driving it's not noticable...

If you look at the New Products link on the website it specifies the 2020 Telluride

That's a little pricey but I'm almost positive it would be worth the added throaty sounds when in sport mode. I would also like to install the Borla cat back exhaust on it but I don't think the wife really wants that extra noise.

For noise I would add the K&N air intake before the Borla Exhaust.

I'm in the same boat but not upgrading anything until Kia makes me whole.

I'm at K&N right now with my 2021 telluride and let's see what happens... they are doing R&D to see is the 2020 one is the same or what better improvements they can make .... will let you know how it goes..

I think it's a good system, but I think the two top vacuum line connections to the tube need to be better, i'm always worried that the clamp is not tight enough for this. Other than that, in Normal Mode, i'm getting about 20.5 MPG in the winter. I think it could be better (would like to see a little higher), but overall the throatyness of the new intake is awesome (it starts to mellow out after 3-4 tanks of gas as the computer adjusts)

@tellusumthing ...

You obviously live where potholes are not an issue... what size are those tires?

So K&N now makes warranty decisions for Kia; highly unlikely!! If Kia voids your warranty for using a CAI, you will have to sue them and prove the CAI did not cause the damage that occurred.

Seem like a great idea, you benefit from an unnoticeable 12 hp gain, possible 1-2 mpg extra prior to it plugging up and diminishing air flow (which according to testing it does faster than a regular filter), and more noise in the vehicle, awesome sign me up...…then again maybe not.
