Hi Y’all We have pulled our small travel trailer for years with our trusty Mercury Mountaineer. We have just moved up to a ‘23 Telluride SX and have a few questions for you . Please feel free to be critical

Number 1: the Telluride came without trailer hitch and the dealer made it sound like a difficult and expensive option. E trailer.com makes their hitch sound like a simple DIY job and watching their video it looks to be within my capabilities. Any advice is welcomed

Number 2: I’ll need a wiring harness for a standard seven pin connector to the trailer, but I’m not clear which will work best on the vehicle. The vehicle has a connector box for to join the wiring to the vehicle . Any experience or advice on this?

I’ve been warned that improper wiring can damage the vehicle electronics. What do I need to watch out for?
