New software update

I have a 2021 SX When I went to update it I made a mistake and hit general update instead of quick update anyway the damn thing took four hours I wish afraid to stop it because I didn’t know what would happen does anybody knows what would happen if it was stopped is my first question and my second question when it was all done it was the same there were no changes please help me out

I don't have an answer for your first question. I have not done a general update. I follow directions. I wouldn't have the guts to shut off the vehicle if it was doing general update.
How was the update obtained? Did you take a note of before/after version?
After update, you should be at the following:

Looks like it didn't upgrade at all. Download the software again and try to upgrade.

Yeah, I just finish the download I’m gonna try tomorrow. From what I read I’m going to lose the main screen with the weather map and radio is that true I’m not gonna have that screen anymore?

Honestly, I would consider carefully before carrying on. I haven't seen alot that is appealing. And the usability seems poor too.

nothing, the system is protected. the system will either continue the installation from the moment it was disconnected, or roll back to a later version.

My only disappointment with my vehicle has been the update. It's completely my fault. I didn't do my research and jumped in feet first, assuming it would be an actual upgrade and not strip some of the features I really like.

I would definitely advise you to do your research before you pull the trigger. If I could, I would roll mine back.

I honestly do not know what version I was running before the I installed the update. It was whatever version came stock with my 2021 model.

It's been a mixed bag. Some people like it, others, like me, do not.

It impacted me most because I listen to SXM a lot. My main complaint is stripping the ability to select which are your first 10 SXM presets. With the new update, they are in numerical order from low to high. I use the built in recording function a lot, so not being able to pick my 10 favorites has been less than ideal. The update also stripped the channel logos from the presets. I never memorized the channel number, I would see the logo and know what I was selecting. Now the channel logo only comes up after you select the station.

I really liked the three panel display of the previous version but that's gone. Now you can do two. I've gotten used to it so this not too big a deal.

Some people hate the purple homescreen. It doesn't bother me.

My gripes are mostly related to the SXM functions. If you mainly use BT audio or terrestrial radio, you may have no issues with the update.

I'm still hoping the next version will address some of the problems. In speaking to Mapnsoft, they said they got a lot of negative feedback at the time. I'm not holding my breath. I still love my Telluride, though.

I did the upgrade today with the usb I received in mail. I do not like the screen change. Since the upgrade, I can't get my navigation to work. it just sits there saying "please wait"..Anyone have same problem?

Yes, I did the update with the USB drive I received in the mail and I have the same issue. Since the navigation doesn’t work I don’t get the posted speed limit on the heads up display as well. I have tried to call Kia Connect and have yet to speak with anyone. I agree with you on the screen change as well, my wife really doesn’t like it.

Yes, same exact problem for me. It's in the shop now, hopefully getting fixed - at the tune of $140.00!! Hoping Kia will pay for this. Very frustrating!
