• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Wife just got a 2022 yesterday. Reading through the manual, I can’t seem to find anything regarding the first oil change. I assume you should change it at 600 miles which is the break in period? Then every 8,000 miles or yearly which is what our manual states.

I want to use Amsoil which I love. I can’t seem to find an oil filter though from Amsoil. Anyone know of a good filter that I can use with Amsoil to get extended change intervals?

I’ve never heard of changing the oil at 600 miles outside of motorcycles. They used to use an ultra thin oil from the manufacturer, but I’m not sure that’s still a practice. I’ve not heard of a car manufacturer using a thin oil off the line.

First oil change should be between 2 to 3,000 miles. After that with Full synthetic 7500 miles.

Because this is my first GDI engine, I changed oil the first time at 1,700. Next was at 5,200 miles. I just changed it the 3rd time at around 8,700 miles. So I guess, I will just change it every 3,500 miles. Why 1,700 miles? It was a compromise between what I thought was a very early 500 miles (never had to change oil that early in all my vehicles) and what will be my target oil change intervals at every 3,500 miles. My other vehicles got changed every 5k-8k miles. I've always used synthetics on my last 5 vehicles after the break in period. I change my own oil so I can baby this car a little bit more. I'm comfortable with this and more importantly, I feel this will not harm it but will add to its longevity since I keep them (average of 14 years) till I donate them or give them away. Just my two cents. Thanks.
