  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... afternoon folks.

just found this forum, hope to be able to be more of a participant in the future. as of right now, i don't have a telluride, but i am looking. that's what brought me here. trying to find out any weak points to look out for, good/bad dealers and deals, etc.

wife and i took our first test ride yesterday and was very impressed. good performance, very quiet, very comfortable, and seriously, usb ports in the seats? who can resist that? no, kidding. there is an amazing amount of tech in this thing so hope to learn a lot about them.

I don't know anything in LA but Kia of Muncie can order to your specifications and ship it to you without any MSRP markup. Great to work with!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. :) What might the Telluride be replacing for you?

You'll get answers here. For the SCC, HDA, LKA, LFA stuff, probably best until you have your car to learn first hand. It's ALL GOOD though ...........

what i heard here, 'wah, wah, wah, wah, wah'...

just got home. found a dealer next door in texas that had a sx x pro in stock, wolf gray with black interior. gave me a good deal on my trade, no additional dealer mark up (with the exception of a $2800 paint protection ceramic coating, leather, and fabric pro. warranted for 5 years). normally, i would not have purchased that. but, this dealer puts it on all their vehicles, is non negotiable. believe me, i tried. i did manage to get a hitch installed free, so small victories i guess.

the big thing is that all the dealers that we've been checking with had models close to what we wanted, not exact, and were all tacking on anywhere from $3000 - $5000 additional dealer markup, 'just because'....

buying a vehicle at msrp is a foreign concept, let alone msrp plus...

driving home from the dealer was exciting, 'hey, how do you turn on the cruise again?', 'whats this button do?' etc. was quite the shock when the lumbar started massaging my back!

this is gonna be fun.

Same here - pretty much sold me on the deal

But no harness, right? (anyway good going on the hitch!)

Yep, surprised the heck out of me on the way home too!

Tips - start using the nav system right away. Each time you drive somewhere, create a destination to learn it quickly. (I find the Voice commands are super for either a place or an address.)
Tip#2 - press Voice quickly otherwise if you hold it down too long, it wants to bring up Siri. With a destination, you will enjoy turn-by-turn info on your HUD.
Tip#3 - you'll find that polarized sunglasses almost totally wipe out your HUD, so you'll need to replace them with a pair of non-polarized glasses.
Tip#4 - A lot of issues are posted about Android. Nothing about iPhones. You'll find that Apple CarPlay screens are great!
Tip#5 - As wireless CarPlay is not here yet, you'll want a good adapter. I use Carlinkit 4.0 and have no problems with it. There are perhaps a dozen brands of these adapters - they are all made in China. Pick your poison.

thanks for the tips. roger on the harness. not a big issue for me, as what we plan to tow is just a small trailer that carries our two motorcycles. single axle, so no brakes required. total weight, less than 2000 lbs.

no hud, we have the sx x-pro which doesn't come with that. have not hooked up our carplay yet. not i a hurry to go with wireless carplay, have not had an issue with using a cable.

Motorcycle man - I was too. I had a Goldwing and toured every state in the Union, including Alaska, minus Florida and Hawaii. Did 5 provinces in Canada to boot!
