Noise levels in car

I read an SUV comparison test recently in one of my car mags and it had the Telluride rated at 63 DB at 70 MPH and the Palisade rated at 69 DB at 70 MPH. I noticed they had different tires on them, is that why they differ in noise levels? I thought they both had the insulated glass, etc.

Not sure why but when I drove the Pallisade it was noisy at high speeds - as bad as my old Pilot. Driving the Telluride was like night and day.
