If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all,
I’m new to the forum and having a frustrating experience- just wondering if it’s normal or if I should move on.
I got a call from sales person at dealership last Monday saying that the car I was looking for was due to be delivered in the next couple days. Went there the next day and made the deal, signed paperwork and left a deposit. Estimated delivery on the paperwork was 2/11. Now that date keeps changing, it was end of last week, now they say end of next week. They say it’s on the truck and the estimates they are given are just that- estimates. I can wait until end of the week- just curious if it’s normal or if it’s going to change again.
Thanks,
Jackie

Estimates are just that, an estimate.

If it continues to change for another 2 or 3 weeks, then maybe you should be concerned.

Right now it seems like your just a bit impatient (like most of the forum)

Get the VIN, and check the VIN lookup site. Telluride Lookup to make sure it has been built and window sticker looks good (dealer, etc). Then, you'll know it's in transit and dealer is giving you good info on ETA.

Thanks- yes the VIN matches and window sticker matches with the correct dealership- it doesn’t say anything about delivery dates that I could find.

It won't, but fortunately it is a legitimate VIN going to the right dealer. We've seen a few cases on here of people buying a car only to find out a few days later it was never to be delivered to that dealer in the first place. In that case the dealer lied about a car to make a deal happen. Person had to go back out the deal including a trade in, etc.. Complete cluster.

In your case, you're prob. fine. They have an estimate, it'll come soon.

Thanks- I guess I just kind of feel like I was mislead to make the sale. If they hadn’t said it was coming in a day or two, I probably would have went with a different option- other lots had in stock options. It’s not a great deal but I was ok with that since it was coming in soon and the color I preferred. Guess I will give it a bit longer :) Plus, they called me when it was supposed to arrive and said they had the exact same vehicle I wanted arrive that day but it had a tow package so if I wanted to pay extra for that, I could have that car instead.

Price was $1000 over msrp but then incentives applied (financing and veteran)- I was ok paying a little more because it wasn’t supposed to take long.
