North Carolina 2022 Telluride Orders

On 1/5, I ordered my Telluride EX in Gravity gray with Tow hitch. Wanted the roof rails but was told they were unavailable.

I ordered from Bob King Kia in Winston-Salem, NC. Anyone else? How long did it take to receive?

I believe it was 3500 over MSRP. I called all dealerships in a 3-4 hour radius to me, near Charlotte. They were one of the cheapest.

Make sure you stay on top of them to ensure they have placed your order. My experience with Bob King Kia was not so great. Me and my wife went and test drove one they had on the lot and placed an order last February (2021). We wanted a wolf grey ex with tow package when we sat down with them to go over everything it all seemed great and we ended up putting a hefty deposit on it for them to order. We were told it was probably around 8 months for them to receive it but we would have a VIN within a month. Well a month rolls by and I call them up to get some details and come to find out they never actually placed our order and were just sitting on our deposit. When I went to get my deposit check back they swore they couldnt cut me a check for like 4 days (i called them on a Wednesday had to wait till Monday). When monday came i was standing outside the door when they opened and it still took them close to 3 hours to get me a check from the back less than a mile away. When the "sales manager" came to hand me my check there was no apology, no oops i ****ed up, nothing just handed it to me and turned a cold shoulder. So I found the exact car we wanted in Shelby NC at Renaldo Kia called them put a small deposit on that one they held the car for 3 days till I got everything with Bob King worked out and even stayed open past closing to accommodate me having to drive 2+ hours to get there. I'm not saying Bob King is a bad dealership just make sure you stay on top of your order and hopefully you will have better results than I did.

There are dealers in Raleigh that sell for MSRP and it's only 3 hours away. Maybe they will throw in some floor mats for that $3500 extra.

Good deal. Besides that issue that dealership has been great to work with especially in the service department. I'm actually a huge fan of how they will send you a video with the tech walking around your car and inspecting things when you bring it in for service. Plus the service manager actually took time to sit down with me and discuss things when I was getting my Telluride lowered. Can't wait to see you out on the road especially if you are from Winston Salem

Did you try Hendrick Kia of Concord? I got mine there at MSRP in September and they were adamant that they don’t charge over MSRP. I know 2 other Charlotte dealers that were through the roof back then, not sure about now. I’d be surprised and frankly a little disappointed if Hendrick was 3500+ over MSRP after how highly I’ve spoken about them.

Not the case. I bought from Hendrick Kia in Cary, NC at MSRP. I consider calling around to be a waste of time. In the time it takes to just talk to ONE dealer, you can google dealers in NC taking orders at MSRP and then just call them. There are more than 1.

When I called them, the salesperson said they do charge at MSRP but add a service package for window tinting, tires, etc that cost $3389.

Wow that’s surprising to me, sorry to hear that. I got the same service package with the tinting and what not but I don’t even think mine was 2k, let alone over 3.

I would always ask, the orders they were receiving in, when were those orders placed. If they are getting in December orders, you should be soon, hopefully.

I spoke to my dealership Bob King yesterday and my sales guy said if he were a betting man I’d have mine by end of August (trip to Hilton head planned). Pretty bold statement if they can’t provide any other information. Either way I know it’s a process and at least the dealership is answering my calls. I don’t see others having that luck.

That's what I'm saying, but he doesn't tell me anything. I've scheduled a text message 2 weeks from now to press him a little more. I've been pretty good with not texting him to find out about our order, but I'm starting to get antsy.
