Help! I live in Blue Ridge, GA...North GA Mountains...I'm having a difficult time finding a dealership that will special order at MSRP. Anyone know of a sensible dealer within a 2 hour radius?

GA here also, so following the thread.

Augusta area here (~3.5 from you), but just for awareness:
Evans Kia and Kia of Augusta are over MSRP. Neither do Costco pricing but they are offering Kia’s veterans discount if that applies. A little further outside, I’ve looked at Columbia SC and they’re running prices about the same.

I put a $2k refundable deposit on a dealer allocation SX at Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee at MSRP. ETA is 8/4. No idea if they do custom orders.

Thank you for responding. May I get the name of your sales associate?

I've been looking at Ed Voyles in Chamblee as well. I was told by one of their sales reps (Payton) that they sell at MSRP. They do have a long list of pre orders though..
I would stay away from Rick Case Kia in Gwinnett. I inquired about an SX yesterday that they have coming in soon and was told it has a $7,500 markup...

May I ask when you put that deposit down or how you came upon that specific SX? So far I've been using failcat to find cars local dealerships are getting and just inquiring if it's been claimed or not..

I put the deposit down on May 22. I saw a car on the Kia website that they had, so I called about it, but was told it was spoken for. I asked if they had any on the way, and they had two that didn’t have a deposit. I put a deposit down on one, and apparently a deposit was placed on the other about five minutes later.

The original ETA was July, but it was pushed back to a 2021 model and I have an ETA of 8/4. I don’t have a VIN yet. If this goes through as planned, though, I will have had a good experience with them.

Sure. Alan Griffitt at 678-234-8311. I find him generally more responsive by phone than email.
Thank you. I just gave him a call. They can preorder all models except the sx right now. He'll call when that opens up to build my order online. Lawd have mercy. What a mess!

did You confirm that they were selling at MSRP?

Jim Ellis of Kennesaw (been my dealer for 9 years - they TOTALLY blew me off) $5K to $10K Markup
Carriage KIA of Woodstock - markup/dealer add-ons on EVERY KIA on the lot!
KIA - Cartersville - everything they tell you is a LIE. Every person that I had contact with there....the next time I reach out to that person - they are no longer there.

KIA of Muncie (Indiana) is the designated COSTCO dealer for Telluride that is closest to the Atlanta Metro area. GREAT people to work with there.

some good info here.

Coral Springs Kia (FL) does Costco apparently. I haven’t called them up to ask about Telly pricing, but I got this info through Costco directly. It would ‘technically’ Be closer for me and nearly the same distance for the ATL area, but I don’t know how reputable of a dealer they are.

No where near you - but just as a data point, I went through Moritz Kia in the DFW area of Texas, who charge MSRP and then ~$800 dealership fee to put on the front doors window tinting, a tiny little racing stripe, and maybe a couple minor things (it's one of those dealership padders, but better than most at least). By owner's decree - they won't charge over MSRP. No other Texas dealers are doing that (I know, because I called about all of them!). So that is cool. But of course that means that in general, if you want a Telluride this year, they tell you what is inbound and when, and usually it's a race to get one. If you don't have a rapport with your particular sales guy, and aren't willing to say "I'll take it" within minutes of his call; you're out. In my case, I wanted a certain model and color scheme, and by luck the original "buyer" backed out a week after I started my 2 month wait. He even got me free factory mudguards - good dudes. So in the end, I drove away with my brand new (10 mile odometer) Telleride SX of the exact specs I wanted, within a 1 week of my $500 deposit; and got it at MSRP.

Sounds like I got pretty darned lucky!

I will say, one thing I didn't realize with Tellurides is they can drive themselves. I put it on cruise, folded my arms and took my feet off the pedals, and it tracked the car in front of me, turned with the road, sped up and slowed down - all while my arms were folded. I didn't know it could do that. That blew my mind. Eventually it yells at you to put your hands back on the wheel though! :) It has lane keeping assist as well, but I find the alarm on that is way too sensitive, and eventually turned it off as a nuisance, more than an aid.

Do you have a picture of this “racing stripe “? I have a deposit on a white sx at Moritz and I explicitly told them not to add any dealer branding or pinstripes to it .

Interesting. I just put that ZIP code into the Costco Auto website and it said the following:
"Unfortunately, none of the dealerships in your area meet our strict pricing requirements for the model you selected."

Don't go through the Costco site, contact Kia of Muncie and they will give you their Costco discount.

@ATLxLo , certainly no ETA. I was given the 'dealer request entry' sheet...there's a long number on it...but I have no idea if that's the 'order number', per say. It's more than likely what you received as well.
