Odd call from Dealer

Long story short August 2021 order at a popular Houston, Tx area dealership for MSRP.

Salesman makes contact at the first of March to let us know “we are close”. On here I see most August orders are being built this month. Also, for the first time in months I see two Tellurides that are exactly what we ordered built for our dealer the day before he called.

Got a call from a sales manager offering us a completely different spec Telluride today and told us we were looking at two to three more months for ours.

Is this normal?

Honestly, I don't think anything is normal right now. The order\allocation process seems like Thunderdome. I see people saying they got a vehicle in less than 50 days from order to delivery, others getting quotes of 90 days and then others are quoted 10+ months. I know I have been waiting for 4 months and just learned that I still have just over 130 orders in front of me.

Ask him about the other ones they got and see what he says...

I agree, call him out on those two Vins - also confirm what your original order number is.

After calling our salesman he now says ours is “being built this weekend“ and will have us a vin Tuesday and the sales manager is just fishing trying to find a home for a vehicle someone backed out on. Really nothing they have said adds up.
