OEM Cross Bars not latching to roof rails

Hello. I have had cross bars on my Telluride since I bought it in 2020 but recently took them off to gain a different look. I decided to put them back on again, but for some reason, well, I can't get them to latch to the roof rails. When I tighten the bolts it pushes the clamps upward dislodging them from the roof rails and not having a tight fit. Has anyone else had experience with this? Am I missing something? All the videos I watch make it look so straight forward it feels like i'm missing something. Not sure if the mounting brackets became bent over the years etc. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Can you please share a picture of the bottom of the cross bars. That will help tell if you are missing parts or maybe just installing them wrong. I am attaching picture of the installation instructions. Just in case
