• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Oil consumption problems

What did you do to piss them off :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seriously, it's generally cylinder walls that get SCORED, not pistons. How were you able to find out? Camera?

Yes camera the dealership said 3 of the 6 were damaged

Shouldn't be an issue unless you have over 100K on the clock !!

My 2020 engine was replaced at 38k miles for the same issue. I started changing the oil at 4500 - 5000 mile intervals after. At 69k miles the engine started to sound like it did before the replacement. I was vigilant on checking the oil and the oil consumption was only about 1qt between oil changes (though I always topped off each time I checked). Needless to say I was concerned that this would be a problem again so I got rid of the telluride. I lost trust in my telluride.

We also have a 2020 Kia telluride XX 2 Wheel Dr. and have been to the Kia dealership several times for all consumption and all we get back from them is it is within tolerance for these engines to burn a quart of oil every thousand miles. With that being said and the engine only holding 6.89 quarts of oil basically you do an oil change every 5000 miles regardless. We all need to come together and get an attorney for a class action lawsuit

To get an accurate reading I check it before I start the car when it is cold.Im wondering why you have the piston scoring.Im thinking perhaps the oil level has been low? Also, you did not mention what year Telluride you have.

Also,I would get a second opinion. The car is out of warranty.I would check with a mechanic that is familiar with the car

2020 Telluride burning oil. Just found out 3 of the pistons are scorned.
Something else you can do is have an oil sample analyzed at a lab.I have heard it only costs about 50.They can also tell if there atec metal particles in the oil.I honestly dont believe the dealer used a camera to evaluate

I was thinking about your situation.I believe 2020 wss the first year for the Telluride. It usually is not a good idea to buy a product in its first year,as problems show up and they try to correct them in subsequent years.Someone else had a similar problem with the 2020.He is selling his car and buying another one (not a 2020 Telluride)
