oil pan sensor wires are cut?

I did an oil change on my 2020 Telluride and noticed (for the first time) that the wires going to a sensor have been cut.

As far as I can tell it is REF.20-213B in the 'Belt and Oil Pan Diagram' - see attached.

But I can't find out what that part actually is.

I'm very confused and if anyone can help me understand what this is (and how or why the wires ended up being cut) I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
