• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Morning all! Just joined while doing some research on the Telly’s. Anyone go from a Tahoe to a Telly? Wife is looking at them and we are about to jump off the ledge and put an order in for one while still looking around. Suppose to call the guy today and give the build so he can place the order monday ( at msrp with no mark up). Just a little hesitant as she will be moving from a 2015 Tahoe, which we love, but is at almost 100k miles and getting me nervous. We tried the downsize before from a Tahoe to an Acadia Denali and she ended up going back to a Tahoe because it sat to low and not high like her Tahoe as well as it was only awd vs 4wd (sucked in snow). any others who downsized and thoughts after it? just a little worried if we go thru with it she will say too small again, even though she says she won’t. Yes, we test drove one but a quick drive doesn’t give u full insight.

she wants the 2021 wolf grey/black interior sx prestige nightfall with tow and a couple other options. Is the tow package worth it? Or more specifically the self leveling because u can get a tow hitch added after. we don’t tow much hardly but like the ability to if it doesn’t fit in the back. we would probably have third row filled with people often (kids friends and visiting family). Rather have and not need vs need and not have.

just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat and made the jump! Looks like a great suv and Kia is stepping it up. Im still in love with my 2013 optima sxl.

Sounds to me like you just need to buy a replacement Tahoe before you get stuck with a vehicle she doesn’t like

Agree. I love my wife’s telluride, but I drive a lifted 4Runner and it’s significantly higher and better in the snow. The Telluride is an amazing vehicle, but if she’s used to the height of a “truck”. She will not feel like she’s driving that anymore. We do feel the Telluride “feels” huge from inside, despite the outside appearance.

@Drewcifer:

If she loves exactly how the Tahoe drives/sits/feels, the Telly will be a change.

Is that what she's looking for?

I'm coming from a luxury sedan (2002 LS 430) so I wanted a modern unibody SUV that drives like a car. Heck, I have 2 speeding tickets in February after a clean first two months of ownership, on a Kia Telluride because I love driving the heck out of this thing as a daily driver plus mountain/valley/coast/canyon/desert/city/town/country road tripper. It's so much fun to drive.

My parents in their 70s can get in and out of the Telly easily without running boards or step rails. When they were much younger, I needed to add running boards for my old 1990 V6 4Runner back in the day and while I liked the 4Runner for the 4WD and A/T tires, it did not drive like a car.

Telly is awesome but it's not for everyone, especially if someone expects it to be exactly like their old car.

I'm used to RWD cars and 4WD trucks/body-on-frame "true" SUV and the Telly is a AWD with a strong FWD-bias, which is why Sport Mode rocks (requires pedal input) and Comfort Mode is the default.

If you want maximum coast where you can take your right foot off the pedal completely, drive in Eco Mode.

Snow + Lock works fine and Smart Mode works for 80% of what most people will use. I wish I could adjust the shift points but Telly is generally good at responding to my flooring the pedal :)

Freeway on-ramps or passing cars, definitely pop Telly into Sport Mode and she accelerates well with the proper pedal input.

For external/internal aesthetics and design and comfort, it's hard to beat the Telluride.

Get the normal look if you want to really see the body lines.

NFE is trendy but won't age well in my opinion.

Aluminum and chrome break up the darker exterior colors, show off the long body lines, and look awesome under all lighting condition: sun, rain, fog, snow, dust/dirt clouds of Southern California.

IF you really want your car to experience a natural blacked-out look, just wait an hour after sunset :)
