Order HELP

Hi everyone,
I ordered a wolf grey 2022 telluride on 1/20/22. I have yet to even hear that my order has been accpected by Kia. Is it usual to wait 4 months? This is my first new car, and I’m so anxious! I knew it was going to take a while but this seems crazy. Does anyone know when orders will be switched to 2023’s?

You could wait much longer depending on the dealer. Read the forum to find out how the allocation process works and the questions to ask your dealer.

Took me about 6 months back in 2020. Received it in October and it was a 2021

It's all rumor at this time. Depending on who is spreading the rumor, the switchover date will occur anywhere from mid-June to July or even August. I also ordered a '22 wolf gray on May 9 and was told it would probably be 4 months (mid-Sept) till I see it - with a possibility Kia will change me to a '23.

It is interesting to note that probably half the people that are subject to a possible switch in model year are upset. I am on the other side. Even with a modest increase in price, I hope I get a '23 as I have learned about all the new safety features. I also like the exterior changes on front and rear. There will be some issues to resolve though, as my current '22 order is for a SX-P with Nightfall. As I have read, the Nightfall will only be available on the two new models -- X-line and X-Pro. I have no need for any off-road capability, BUT I really wanted the Nightfall, so ........??

I ordered Nov 2021 and Kia has not picked up my order. When i checked on my staus in late April there were still over 100 orders in front of me. At this point, the dealer said my order will be a 2023 model. I ordered the Nightfall package on mine so not sure what that does to my order. My dealer didn't know either. I did reach out to one dealer yesterday that has an EX on the lot supposedly. They are asking 55k for it. I have pretty much given up on getting a Telluride and am looking at Palisade. I have put my name in with several Kia dealers and Hyundai dealers in case orders drop out. I have not heard from one Kia dealer. I have heard from a couple of Hyundai dealers. Just haven't had the exact trim or the Palisade got sold before I got there. I even had one dealer sell the Palisade I was test driving to another couple. It is crazy times.

Does anyone have a good guide to exactly how ordering through the dealer works? I placed my order for an SX on 11/29/21 and was told 12 to 16 weeks at that time. I put a grand down, and keep getting no good answer from the Salesperson. It's been 26 weeks now with no word. It seems to me like someone at the Dealer should be able to provide the EXACT steps for how this works. I understand the current market and economy, but would just like to understand the process. I did contact Kia support to see if they could clarify, but they do not seem to have any detail matching the "Request ID" the dealer provided me with.

Any info is greatly appreciated! I did checkout the "Telluride Lookup" site and can see the dealer is receiving vehicles.

Thanks for this info!!! Reading the first page of that helped; albeit very confusing.

Unfortunately it did not help me get any further with my salesperson. It's a shame that he's not more up front or able to explain where I am in the process. He either doesn't understand himself, or is not willing to explain to me how many telluride's are allotted to them, and when my order would be picked up by Kia.
