Ordered 2021 Telluride SX AWD

Hey everyone, new to the forum. Ordered our 2021 Telluride SX AWD Nightfall in black. It’s been about 2 months with at least another month before expected arrival. At what point should the dealer have any sort of confirmation that they are building our Telluride?
Is there any way to track progress of the build beside bugging the sales person? Thanks!!

There’s a process from when the dealer takes your order till you get a VIN that can be tracked. Smarter members than me can explain it better. Welcome to the forum

If you’re expecting an arrival date within 3 months, you’re lucky. I placed my order for a 2021 SX AWD Prestige/Night Fall/Tow Package in Gravity Grey in October 2020. My local dealer advised I’d be contacted when my order hit production so I have been calling periodically to check in. To this day, I still haven’t heard or received confirmation my order has even been started on production. Now, seems like my order is slightly different which might be part the reason in terms of delay. Back in October I was told 6-8 months for arrival and I am just about month 5. Hoping that the order will be bumped into a 2022 model with how close it is to the next years model release. To answer your question, the only source I know of is FailCats (google it). I got that source from this Forum site and have been recently using it to see if my local dealer has had orders started. I think it only tracks when production is started and can track the VIN. Also note, that others have mentioned to keep the source on the down low with your dealer ...not like it hasn’t been plastered all over the web with this forum site being a main source. But none the less, that might help you track your order. I still haven’t mastered the site but it has given me insight on Tellurides are created, figured i might be able to see my order hit the site with a VIN and contact my dealer about it rather than calling so many times a month checking in.

Three months is quick!!! I ordered my white SX AWD nightfall in December. Arriving May 18. My dealer had the confirmation it was being built about 2.5 or 3 months into the wait.
