I'm ready to order an SXP in moss/black interior. I spoke with a few dealers in the Chicagoland area who have been telling me very different info about wait times. Dealer in Elgin who accepts Costco pricing says 6-8 months for SXPs. Another dealer in Elmhurst says 3-4 months. Any yet another dealer in Evergreen says 2-4 months. What should I believe? What has been your experience with ordering SXPs around Chicago? I'm afraid that the dealers that are quoting shorter time frames are just trying to get me to order from them but aren't being forthcoming about how long it will ready take. Thoughts?

Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. Ordering SXP in Chicagoland - what are the real order to delivery times?

Lots of variables.. I would go with 4-5 months if you are
1.) ordering from a high volume dealership that has a high allocation monthly
2.) not number 20 or above on the waitlist.(this is for high volume dealers)(you can also ask how many SXP orders are in)
these are the two biggest factors on wait time.
MicheleW has a spreadsheet here where you can research the dealers in your area to see who are the higher volume stores.

8 MONTHS is excessive but better to under promise and over deliver as they say. By August, the 2021 will likely be in production.
I didn't even ask when I ordered but I've been quoted by my local dealer 8-12 weeks and in my mind I'm thinking by Memorial Day. Anytime sooner and I'll be thrilled.

Thanks! I’ve decided I’ll order from Gerald Kia of Naperville b/c largest volume dealer. I was told they average 4 months order to delivery. Having the hardest time deciding on exterior color. Moss, everlasting silver or ebony black are my top choices. So hard to decide! I know I want black interior.

I did a $1k refundable deposit. I'm in w/ Elgin since mid Nov. They told me to expect late March at the time. He didn't want to over-promise/under-deliver. Hoping it's around March/April. If we are hitting May w/ no news, I'll be shocked if I can keep the wife waiting any longer for a new vehicle. That and my existing SUV is not something I trust anymore.

I ordered my fully loaded Telly miss green and dune brown interior on 9/23/19. I went in mid November and was told mine would arrive on the 1/11/20 delivery. We'll see. Good luck! I ordered mine at McGrath on Dundee in Palatine.

Wife and I ordered ours yesterday at Orland, and the salesperson was telling us 3 months. Based in the replies here that seems optimistic though.
They had some SXP moss green/black in stock though, maybe you should check there?
