• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I've done one update, for the nav system. I just followed the instruction file that came with the download and it went fine. The instructions said a 64g thumb drive was needed and that is what I used but the actual file was less than 32g. The instructions called for performing the installation in the Telle with the engine running and I did that, but I doubt that it was necessary. The install took less than 20 minutes. Overall, I had no problems and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

The only Tellurides that have OTA updates for the infotainment are 2023s.

Note that (based on information I’ve seen from other Kias and Hyundais with OTA update capability), it’s not something that can be done on demand. They will just come in on their own and the system will complete the update when it’s ready. Some 2023 Sportages, for example, were just getting their April 2022 update via OTA in September. So really, it’s mainly to make sure no one gets too far behind. If you want any updates immediately, you have to do them yourself with a USB stick the old fashioned way.

Also note that based on the information currently available from the update provider, the 2023 will not even be eligible for the fall 2022 update. So no one with a 2023 is likely going to see any updates start rolling in until the spring 2023 update hits.

Thanks, makes sense

Interesting, thanks for this! My 2023 Telluride can see the Oct 2022 OTA available, so if it's not even eligible, it's surprising that it sees it. I'll check in with my service center. I saw it the day I picked up the car (10 days ago?) and they didn't know anything about it. It's annoying that as a prospective owner, I knew more than some of the salespeople at the dealer and that owner-enthusiasts know more than the service people. I know it's tech and tech changes, but it's just lame.

It can’t see the October 2022 update, because that version doesn’t exist for the 2023.

It says “available” because you have the requisite Kia Connect plan to support OTA updates. It doesn’t mean an update is actually available. If your subscription had lapsed, it would say “not available,” even if there actually was an update.
