Paint/dye the headliner black?

So I originally ordered the black interior and a month later asked the dealer to change it to dune because I did not want a light headliner. They said sure since the order had not been picked up yet at that point. Well fast forward to today, the VIN showed up on Failcat and it's coming with the black interior.

My question is: has anyone tried to paint or dye the headliner black? And how much would it cost to 1) have it professionally done or 2) do it myself?

Are you sure it's black? Dune and butterscotch show up as extra packages under "additional options". What's the VIN?

The first thing I did was to look for it under additional options. It’s black unfortunately.

I have a light headliner with a black interior. I didn't order it this way on my 20 SX P. I think if it was all black, it would be cave like. Unless there is something I'm missing, I wound leave it alone, it looks fine.

It's certainly a matter of personal preference. However, there are many auto makers that make all black interiors. It isn't something new. And there's another thread on this forum where others complained about the light headliner with the black interior. I may consider buying the black OEM headliner and getting it installed.
