• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... anyone ever put Paint Protection Film (clear bra) on their car before? I was intrigued about potentially doing it since I'm going to roadtrip a lot with the Telluride and the nose is flat and big and could catch a lot of rocks (my paint color is black).

I recently saw it done on a Porsche Macan, and it looked great. Please let us know what you do... considering it myself. But, sounds like it's best to have front letters removed.

I talked to a well respected auto body expert on this. He recommended against it as the film probably would not last much over three years and it’s difficult to get it off to do body repairs. He recommended a good coat of wax and Pam prior to road trips. I’m aware there are multi year warranties but is there a performance bond backing those up in case the business giving the warranty ceases to exist. So you can try it and report back to us periodically how well it has worked out

I haven't tried paint protection film on my car, but I only tried ceramic paint protection because it was recommended by a friend of mine. I was satisfied with the result. It's a good sealant and can achieve a clean and glossy finish with a very affordable price.

I’ve been using instant detailer before and after any trips where bugs might be a problem. In spite of Florida’s notorious love bugs the front surfaces of the car are still, 6 months in, clear of any bug damage. I carry a spray bottle and a cloth with me and touch it up periodically when I get fuel. Simple solution, requires vigilance but so far great results.
