• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I recently purchased a 2022 SX model and noticed that the passenger side doors both take slightly more effort to fully close vs the driver side doors.

Was told it was normal for Tellurides due to knee airbag/heavier door safety thing. He said those doors are slightly heavier than driver side doors causing this and if I tested on other Tellurides, I'd experience the same.

The doors close fine. Just thought that was odd.

Anyone else experience the same? Just concerned I was lied to, into potentially buying a vehicle with a chassis/door alignment problem.

Thank you

Does not sound right. I have not noticed the doors being heavier on one side of the car than the other.

The driver’s knee airbag is under the steering column. Not inside the door.

I bet if you asked the salesman why the windshield is cracked, he would've told you it's a safety feature, they come pre-cracked now to avoid future cracking.

It's kind of funny that no matter what, they will come up with a decent enough sounding reason and say everything is normal.

Your doors absolutely should not take different amounts of effort unless the vehicle is parked off-axis on a hill and you're pushing your passenger doors up.

My front passenger door takes MORE effort to close compared to the other doors.

I was thinking maybe the latch needed a slight adjustment.

Difficult to close all the way or heavy? If it's closing, the door seals may be a bit uneven and need to seat in.

I don't think the front passenger door has a heavier feel necessarily.

I just know that it it often takes 2 tries when closing the front passenger door

UPDATE: wanted to provide this in case others experience the same.

Service advisor advises that this is caused by pressure inside vehicle. So when all other windows/doors are closed, it may take slightly more effort to close the door. This doesn't happen on the driver doors, which is odd. Just passenger side doors.

I tested and if any window is open, all doors close with same/very little effort. Literally with a finger.

So I assume it's just a matter of a design flaw by KIA. Maybe they need an extra vent somewhere to equalize the pressure.

Service advisor also said he has a Telluride and he experiences the same.

I want to add to this thread that the front passenger side door on my mine delivered two days ago takes more effort as well like two tries

I did not go to Kia dealership but was searching when I saw this thread

I have experienced this and this is what I have in mind

You are right, I have experience this recently and I purchased a car from Florida and use car transport services to transport my car. It was enclosed vehicle transport service so when car reached it was in same condition and after few days I feel the same you are feeling but it was not really happen.
