If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I'm scheduled to pick up a new 2021 Telluride S at Oakes Kia in Kansas City next month around June 15. The sales person is telling me that "additional installed equipment" on this Telluride is from the factory. I'm attaching a portion of the window sticker showing those items, almost $1,300 worth of stuff that I would not normally get. Is it true those items are from the manufacturer or are they put on by the dealer after arrival? Are they negotiable at this point? If so, how would I go about doing that? Any suggestions would be helpful

Also, based on checking a lot of different Kia dealers in Missouri, almost all of them are marking up Tellurides above the MSRP. This dealer is adding $2,000 to this S trim model. The single Kia dealer I found (in Columbia, MO) that does not mark up will not have any Tellurides in for many months I'm told.

Can you also tell me what I should expect as far as "extra" things I will be asked to buy when I pick up this Telluride?

Thanks for all your help.

Ron

If you didn't custom order the car, then that's what they have coming in. It looks like a selection of legitimate factory-installed accessories that are usually put on most cars. Just like you probably didn't pick the exact paint and interior colors, these are things you have to accept when you buy a car off the showroom floor (except in your case you got the car before it even hit the floor).

I believe your questions were answered in your original post. ☝

If you look at any other window sticker on failcat, you will see the same add-ons in many variations. They are from the FACTORY. And no a dealer is not going to negotiate on them.

Any "additional" items your dealer adds would be a question for your dealer. Every dealership is different in cost, dealer mark-up, dealer "packages" (security or paint protection), doc fees.

Reading this forum, you can see some people are willing to pay mark up and others are not. You have to decide if the $2000 is okay for you. No one else can decide for you.

The way I see it, you can choose to move forward with the few additional factory items that you keep complaining about and pay the relatively small mark up OR walk away from that Telluride and find one that doesn't have the additional factory items or mark up (realize this will take months).

I will only be paying MSRP, tax, title, registration, and dealer doc fee (which is a flat state regulated fee for me). I will be saying no thank you to any options the dealer may offer.

And yes, it will be a long wait as you are entering into this at the end of MY21 and slightly prior to MY22. If you don't take the June one, it may be months before you are able to get exactly what you want as you would need to find a dealer to order your exact wants and then wait for it.

Based on what we are seeing in Cuomo's Kingdom, that amount of inflation is not terrible.....and also what makes me wonder of the ultimate "delivery price" of the Telluride's that are 3-6 mos out.... meaning the deposit doth not guarantee the dellivery price
