• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all, 4-day owner of an S. First feedback from my trading my wife's Atlas SE w/Tech is how we no longer have a power liftgate. I was able to find a cut sheets from the liftgate from www.kiapartsnow.com between a non-power and a power liftgate. Based on my review it looks like the following parts are different between the two. I plan to install LED reverse lights this week and will look to see if there are the necessary harnesses (would take any insight if anyone has it since I have not been able to look myself yet). Based on my research, the following parts would be needed. (Part ID from cut sheet - KIA part #). Looks like a ~$2,000 investment. eBay has part #1 and #9 available currently for significant discounts.
  1. 81870B - 81870S9100
  2. 1327CC - 1327108001
  3. 1327AB - 1327006001
  4. 96740F - 81880S9100LBR, 81880S9100WK (2 separate parts listed for the switch, not sure yet to difference of LBR to WK)
  5. 96831A - 95710C1000
  6. 81775J - 81831S9100
  7. 83130D - 81850S9100
  8. 83140A - 81860S9100
  9. 81230E - 81800S9100
  10. 30A fuse for the engine compartment fuse box labeled (POWER LIFTGATE)
I have not yet gotten to thinking about the button on the on dash yet if there is an open female plug behind there for it. Whether the current vehicle harnesses, LX/S cluster, or even if the trunk button on the key fob would work. Not sure I am brave enough yet to try a 2k experiment, but thought I would put out the info I had.
