Prestige Package

Ordered a SX with prestige package on 4/2/19 in western new York. Just found out that Kia can't keep up the demand for the SX with prestige package due to limited supply of the nappa leather. My dealer told me that it will take until mid fall to fill my order. The only other option was the tow package. Anyone else heard of this issue? Anyone have any ideas on finding one with the prestige package & tow package?

If you ordered on 4/2, you might see it by summer. I have read elsewhere on this forum that Kia can produce about 500 of those models (SX-P) per month currently, and have a 6-7 month current order backlog - so they halted taking any new orders. One issue is that they don't build to order - they build whatever they want at the factory, and then allocate to dealers.

You can call around and try to find one... but many dealers are adding +5-10k markup and telling customers that they aren't being produced and that orders had to be cancelled (a blatent lie, but expected.)

If you do find one, don't travel before having a signed purchase agreement - there's no reason a dealer can't complete the sale electronically. But, that being said, I haven't found a dealer willing to do this - demand is too great, and there are anecdotes of bidding wars at dealerships. I have had multiple chances to purchase, but everyone wanted me to come in for a "test drive" first... but the car would certainly sell before I could get there!

I've given up on trying to find one - just going to wait for my order to arrive (orders prior to 5/17 are still in system). And, evaluate other options such as the Palisade.
