• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... As always I will try to keep everyone here informed of what we are seeing on the dealer side.

Last week was a weekly allocation(Not KFOS). It is normal to get assigned some random cars like Forte, K5, Rio's etc.. but for the first time in what seems like forever we Got assigned some Telluride's.
That alone is a good thing, but even more note worthy was the amount we got assigned was quite a bit.

Then today KFOS opened and noticing we got a healthy amount of Tellurides assigned to my location as well.

IMO this is something that I should pay attention to because this may indicate an increase in future production.

I will update on here if we get more assigned on the next weekly allocation. This would set some alarm bells off in my head that not only is my store seeing an increase but the whole Nation.

This info may be important to some of you here for the fact that if increase is coming than

A.) Wait times will decrease (YAY)
B.) Supply will start to trend in a positive way with demand
C.) Would be a good time if selling your Telluride to 3rd parties(example Carvana/Carmax) to do so before everyone else; before this wave of Telluride hit dealers(still 2-4 months out at this point).

All that being said.. Need more data but worth noting.

As always I appreciate you all and the continued growth of our community.
Please don't repost this elsewhere as at this point it is just something I will keep tabs on for you on.

Thanks as always!

Great info, thank you! I hope you’re right.

Same brother, we can order Carnivals and I’m a high volume dealer and wait times look like 8 months right now. Looks like Forte’s are being pushed. Haven’t had this much incoming since pre-covid

Any chance they are just finalizing their 2022 model year numbers? Anything not picked up in the next couple if weeks will be a 2023?

Yes, I'd love to hear any insight, if at all, they have about the 2023 model.

Stephen you office in Carrollton. Is that where the Tellurides were assigned! I have an order in at Frisco Kia but live very close to Carrollton location and would like to see what they may have coming

It is plausible but I would lean that it is still to early in the year

Yes I office here in Carrollton.

Just curious how KFOS actually works? Do the dealerships know on the first day of KFOS what trims they are able to submit orders against? Or, do they trickle in over the course of KFOS?

We see exactly how many we are allocated in each trim on first day. We In addition get supplemental orders which are “extra orders” that may or may not fill that we see when KFOS closes.. but for the most part we know exactly how many will fill on first day

Interesting news and hopefully this continues. We ordered last October with a 6-8 month wait, but seems like it is going to be more along the lines of 10-12 months at the current rate. Our dealer we purchased from seems to only get 8-12 per month if that.

Production sucked the last 2 day. Not sure what's going on but 0 vins yesterday and only 26 today???

Well the VINS that would show up yesterday would be for vehicles on Sunday. They don't make them on Sunday so 0 on Monday is common. But I agree, 26 today (reflective of yesterday's work) isn't very good. I wonder if they are putting a heavy production focus on the new 2023 Sportage which they started making there a week or so ago?

Shouldn't that be on a separate line though?
