• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Saw this in the morning. Was wondering what would cause this ? Other side doesn’t have this just this side (right end). What sits here behind the plastic piece ?

Strange, I have no idea. Wash the whole area and see if it comes back. The muffler is on that side but should have a heat shield.

Maybe it’s a constant thing in the cold (it’s around 15 f here) but I personally never noticed or purposely looked. Just happen to walk around that side and saw it. The pad inside the plastic is still intact so maybe it’s just the heat v the cold.

Could be heat radiating off the muffler to that spot through an open spot on the inner bumper. Looks like some kind of heat transfer.

Pretty normal right ? I’m assuming it’s because of the cold we are getting here. I’m also noticing a whine when I first start the vehicle. I’m at 35,000 miles btw

I am also in cold weather, today is mid 20's, have never seen this before.

What trim is that, LX? Curious to know if there's a difference in rear bumpers maybe.

Do you park in a shared parking lot? Another car parked perpendicular to yours with remote start and muffler putting at your bumper?

Is the rear A/C in that location?

No not shared. I drove the car for a hour. The square started to slowly fade as I stopped the engine once I got home. The inside of the bumper is a pad same shape
