I am getting a 2025 SX X-Line and want to outfit it with either the Thule or Yakima X-bars. I will be putting either a Thule Pulse Alpine Box or an Inno Wedge 660 Box to carry four pair of skis and poles. I would mount them in such a way not to cause the sunroof damage if inadvertently opened. On my wife's car we have the Thule AeroBlade Evo with a Yakima Skybox, so I don't mind different brands together.
I would prefer the lower profile of either the Timberline FX or the AeroBlade Edge, but would consider the Timberline or AeroBlade Evo that have the taller feet.
I am looking for feedback from anyone that has these low-profile X-bars with a cargo box. I know there's additional noise associated with cargo boxes, but with spacing to avoid sunroof conflict has anyone experienced box vibration.
For those that have the low profiles, would you do it again?
For the box, I am strongly leaning towards the INNO Wedge because it has about an inch less height than the Alpine box and 8" wider holding more skis on the occasion I may bring more skiers to the mountain. My longest pair of skis is 180cm so not concerned about length. Any feedback from owners of either box is greatly appreciated too! For the times I need more space, I can swap boxes and use the skybox on the Telluride.
For the Crossbars, I am leaning slightly towards the AeroBlade Edge, but would easily consider the Timberline FX. REI is currently having a sale on both so like to grab one before they go out of stock...
