• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Rear AC question

Hey I think I fixed my issue. Have an s and it was turning on every time I turned on the car as well. What I did was hit the “rear” button on my dash and turned the fan to its lowest component and also put the air to come out by your feet. Turned the car on and off twice and it didn’t turn on. Hopefully after work it doesn’t turn on. I’ll keep you guys posted

 NOOOOOOOOO please keep trying I have no time to take it to the dealer so I count with all of you guys. I only use my rear space for my dogs and they don't complain at all but--------- keep trying lets make KIA fix this issue BTW I love my TELLURIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the opposite issue! I’m wanting the rear to stay on, but every time I turn the car off and it sits for awhile , I go to turn it on and the rear AC is not on. It like resets every time. I always have to push the “rear” button and thought hitting “lock controls” keeps it ON , but that’s not the case. How can the rear AC stay on without always having to push rear button every time I turn car on?

I think LX and S goes On and the EX SX goes off

Have a parallel issue with the EX, where the rear zone does not come on when I push 'Sync'. Rather I have to push 'rear' on the console, then go to the screen and adjust which I normally just put on Auto and Lock screen. Then once the car is turned off and back on, I have to do that all over again every time. Dealer said he has heard of the problem and asked me to bring it in, so I have a Friday appointment.
I have SAME issue with our EX! Very annoying.

My EX AWD rear AC seems to default to “off” regardless of how I set it. I can turn it on, set it to “auto” and “sync”, but if I turn the car off for more than 20 to 30 minutes it will go back to “off”. If it is just a short stop though (less than 20 minutes), it will stay how I set it. I haven’t yet spoken with the dealer about this yet, but I plan to when I take it back for repair of the Bluetooth connectivity issue.

I have the same issues and it is extremely annoying! I hope they send an update to fix this soon. it is very wasteful!

UPDATE: I received a call directly from Kia USA following up with a complaint I filed a few months ago regarding this issue. They formally acknowledged that it is a glitch that they're aware of as various owners have reported it, and they are working on resolving the issue in an upcoming TSB. I asked when I could expect the fix, but Kia would not commit to a specific timeline --- only that they would contact me again when the TSB was available to be completed at dealerships.

Not the best possible news, but at least Kia acknowledges that it is, in fact, a real issue and they are working on resolving it.

Was your complain about the EX always turning back ON or the SX always turning back OFF?

I went to the dealer for first oil change last week and talked about my SX always turning rear ventilation OFF and they told me it's a feature. Rear ventilation is considered an accessory, like heated seats that goes back to off when shutting down the car, according to them.

Thanks @robt83 for the update...but was your issue that it would not be off when you turned the car on? Some of the EX owners like me can only turn it on by pressing the Rear button and then controlling on the screening, rather than just hitting sync which seems to be how its suppose to work via the manuals. But who knows...

My particular issue is that the rear climate always turns back on, but Kia did mention in their call to me that they are addressing both scenarios you mentioned.

Regarding what your dealership said, I would take it with a grain of salt. When I mentioned the issue to my local dealership, they looked at me like I was crazy and just said, "Never heard of anyone else complaining about it", so they clearly aren't kept in the loop (or aren't at liberty to disclose anything) until the TSBs come out from the manufacturer.
