• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone have a photo of the rear bumper protector film factory installed? Can’t find any pictures and it’s the only option available on the Kia build site. Thank you!

Pretty sure this is it...the black strip on top of the bumper. C11CDD56-8889-4364-9AC5-D099B3791E5C.webp

That was cool...accidently posted a picture of some personal stuff...holy crap!

Thank you, nice picture.

I understand that the factory “Rear Bumper Applique” is a clear film attached to the bumper but I have not seen any installed. If anyone can provide a photo installed on a Telluride will be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure it is not clear, it’s black. Why would you need clear plastic on your rear bumper? The appliqué is meant to prevent damage to your bumper from loading/unloading.

Btw, you don’t have to take my word for it, there are earlier threads on this subject.

I have the applique on the stinger and it is clear.. it's pretty tough and will protect as good as the black does. Unfortunately, don't have any pics of it on the Telluride if they even make it. Only thing I can find is the black protector. The have the applique for the door handle wells listed though.

So you asked about this in another thread here:

As far as we've seen, there is only one rear bumper protection method from the factory, and it's the plastic protector part listed. That means that on the build site, "rear bumper applique" could be the same as "rear bumper protector". I haven't seen a part number for a clear applique for the rear bumper as there is for the door handle wells. You could have 3M or equivalent wrap applied aftermarket.

But, as @ucinn said, they offer a clear applique for the stinger, so it could have changed! A bit confusing.

The clear protector would make sense for something like the Stinger, where it is probably applied over paint. In the case of the Telluride, it’s put on a dark gray plastic bumper. A piece of clear plastic would look pretty weird on top of existing gray plastic.

Not questioning your reply, I appreciate the information you provided. The Kia website indicates the applique is a clear film and pictures of other Kia vehicles indicate the same. I much prefer the black protector you provided in the pic you sent. I have contacted the dealer to sort this out. Thanks again for your help!

I‘m ordering a SX-P, SWP, Dune Brown.

Agree, very confusing!
I don’t think the clear film would look good on the telluride. Thanks for the feedback.

I ordered the same exact vehicle, with the factory installed rear bumper appliqué. Totally expecting it to be black.

Just wanted to report that Hart Motors in Salem, VA has confirmed that the rear bumper applique referenced on the Kia website for the Telluride is in fact the black one with ridges that was depicted in the pic you attached. Good news!

Thanks again for your feedback.
