• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... This doesn't seem to be a big deal but the fact that I know it is out of center bothers me. I don't know if it was installed by my dealer or at the factory. This is an out of state dealer (8 hours away) so going back to them is not an option. Any recommendations on how to fix this? Should I use a heat gun/hair dryer and pry it off and get new 3M tape and re-install? Thank youIMG_0602.jpgIMG_0604.jpgIMG_0603.jpg

I think you answered your own question. I would at least attempt what you suggested. It is probably affixed with 3M tape. You may need goo gone to clean and then alcohol to prep the surface again before re-installing.

Also, you might want a thin plastic shim or scraper to help you along. If it's too hard to center, to your preference, then I'd just leave it off - it's not entirely necessary.

@w8rner mine was installed poorly as well, and actually fell off shortly after delivery. the dealership shipped me a new one and i'll install myself once the weather warms up again!

20lb fishing line , start at one side and use a sawing motion with a slight lifting pressure , use a hairdryer to keep the piece warm to soften the tape

I was going to get one—glad I didn’t. The top of the bumper is so tiny it doesn’t seem to be necessary.

Will get mine when bumper needs it So far 20 months old and see no need for this BTW yes take it off ASAP before gets harder to remove

Did it fall off on the road somewhere? Bad alignment I can understand but falling off?!

Mine came with one, it's also slightly off.

yeah, whoever installed mine installed it too far back, so the lip that's supposed hang down the bumper pushed the whole thing up so the tape never really stuck.

it fell off while parked thankfully, somehow made it home after a 4 hour drive. i noticed it was loose the following day. then several days later it was really loose. i took a video and some pictures and sent it to the dealer and they said they'd send me a new one and apologized. we had some insane winds, and i suppose the wind just grabbed it enough to finish the job? like i said: it was barely on!

i've got the new one now, just waiting for the 60 degree temps the instructions recommend.

I just went and checked my new SX and mine doesn’t have one? Is it supposed to have one?

We got to pay extra for that "feature". :cautious:
