Rear panoramic sunroof broke

I searched old threads and couldn't find anything.
The track & rail system on our rear sunroof has broken randomly. The fabric also appears to have melted in the Florida sun and fallen apart.

Curious if anyone else has had this issue?

I went to open the rear panel and as it was sliding back the fabric began to bunch up like an accordion and the rail mechanism was getting stuck while clicking and cracking.

10k on the clock, 2021 SXP, 8 months old. Our second SXP and second time having random stuff breaking so soon.

Wow, that's a concern! I'm all "on-board" with this car but sometimes you have to take a step back and consider what sacrifices they made to offer this car for the price it is.

That's exactly my concern. What little areas did they cut corners to hit their price point.
Why is the glue coming undone so easily?
Why is the mechanism failing so soon?

Well, hopefully it can be taken care of by warranty. Hope the hassle to get the 2021 from your 2020 was worth it.

Was no hassle selling and buying. That whole process easy.
