2020 Kia Telluride EX - Suddenly our rear, passenger seat release button on the top of the seat and the coinciding release button in the back hatch area stopped working. Anyone else come across this issue?

Look for the red pull string on the bottom, behind the seat. If it is pulled, you may need to reset it into place to restore the latching mechanism.

Its supposed to be an emergency release of sorts.

Yes ours has the same issue. Not sure how to “reset” the red release pull mechanism because it seems to be working properly.

Mine stopped working as well. I have ‘21 EX model. Has anyone discovered how to reset the seat so the button works again? 😣

I’m having the same issue where the top button on the rear passenger seat has stopped working on my 2020 telluride EX model. The lower button works fine. Has anyone figured out a fix for this? I’ve pulled the red release strap to try to reset the mechanism but this does not change the behavior. Thank you.

Same issue but drivers rear seat top button. There is a rear seat TSB 196 that’s for earlier Tellys. I have a ‘24 and assumed they would have addressed it.

We had the same problem with the rear remote button for the left-side middle-row captain's seat on our 2021 SX Prestige. I found a very easy fix for our problem. The remote for the right-side seat and the on-seat buttons for the left-side seat worked, so I figured that it wasn't a software or fuse issue. I moved the seat all the way back and felt around for the power connector. It's easy to find because it's near the front of the seat bottom at the end of a bundle of wires coming up from under the carpet toward the rear. I found the wiring coupling wasn't fully connected. I pressed the two parts together and heard a very satisfying "click" that fixed everything. I was thrilled to avoid the time and hassle of a warranty visit to the dealer.

Awesome! Going to search for this little guy! Thanks! I have checked the fuse, checked the cables for proper engagement, replaced the switch, replaced the motor, and still have only one button working!
