• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I get the warning beep when in reverse. I can turn it off manually, but I don't bother because it will be only for few seconds before I switch to Drive and the warning beep goes away.
The 1Up is a lot more more compact. Here is a picture with the 2 bike version I found on this website clearly showing a much lower profile than the Thule. I have no personal experience with 1Up nor Kuat.

Good luck,

That’s more compact? Looks huge

Well I'm on the 1Up wait list. They're saying they aren't accepting new orders until November 1st, and then who knows how long after that till those orders ship. My favorite bike shop is telling me it's going to be 4 weeks till they get in another round of Kuat racks.

Like I needed a reason to hate COVID more. haha

I ordered mine when they opened orders on 8-26 and it came in 9-14.

I had a Yakima dr tray before that I liked but it was the 1-1/4 version and I didn't want to run an adapter.

I found a Kuat NV Base 2.0 in a local bike shop yesterday afternoon and pulled the trigger. This thing is SOLID. I put it together and on the Telluride last night. Couldn't tell too much with the backup camera in the dark. haha

Getting to the trails requires a drive so this makes me happy. I really didn't want to put our bikes inside our new Telluride and I REALLY didn't want to wait over a month for a rack.

Kind of reassuring, I spoke to three bike shop employees yesterday and all three of them use the Kuat NV Base 2.0 on their cars. I appreciate everyone's chiming in on this thread. I know other Telluride owning bikers will appreciate this thread.

Some pics of the Kuat NV Base 2.0 for reference.
Wait, is that a Wolf Grey I see? Nice! Looks awesome with the bike rack. I’m adding to my wish list.

It's the ever-deceptive Everlasting Silver that sometimes looks grey and sometimes looks blue. I love the color. Typically don't care much for black wheels but with Everlasting Silver the contrast is great. And with the matte black of the Kuat NV Base 2.0 it looks really sharp too.

I realized I didn’t post one of it folded up. Got it nice and dusty going to my grandpa’s place but y’all get the idea.

Here’s my 1up rack. I’ve had Thule racks forever but they just don’t seem to last(Lots of rusting issues in NJ). It’s really well engineered and super solid. 6D1896AE-D8B9-4979-A15E-8D2E07550988.webp5F106057-D29C-421C-B9FF-DB59000A16B6.webp

I LOVE my Hollywood Rack. Easy too install and un-install (once you have the hitch). It's way sturdy and minimal shake. It holds my 70 lb electric bike with ease. PLUS it can actually accommodate 2 bikes. It's a great rack and I have no negatives about it. It's a Sport Rider. I know some racks are hard to come by as bikes have become way more popular. But I highly recommend this brand. I did TONS of research first and etrailer web site is VERY useful.

Pretty open to the design, looking to see if anyone has one that does the job well. Some reviews on Amazon for some of them say they rattle around, etc. (not on Telluride, just in general).

The platform is nice for multi use, but open to the hanging bike racks as well.
I have the Telluride Ex with tow package (auto level) with 2" hitch. I did a ton of research, and ended up going with the "Kuat Sherpa 2.0" hitch rack, which is their 2" version. There's zero rattle, because 1) The mount fits 2" perfectly. 2) The Kuat has a big knob to twist that expands a rubber gasket(?) Inside the receiver, which forms a complete and perfect fit inside. Zero rattle, and the bikes don't shift during the drive. It's a 'clamp' style mount, so easy to load and unload bikes, and flips up when not in use. AND the rack will tilt away from the car with bikes on the rack so you can get into the trunk. The Telluride's huge trunk door clears it, no problem. We have two hybrid mountain bikes. It's also lightweight, so I keep it at the back patio when not in use, but you can leave it on full time in any weather. From the time I pick it up at the patio, to having the bikes secured and ready to drive off, it has taken me just under 5 minutes. Once I'm done riding, I have both bikes mounted in under 2 minutes, and driving away. I believe Kuat now makes a version where the bike rack swings (pivots) away from the back trunk for trunk access, but mine tilts. You CAN buy the pivot adapter if you don't like tilting, but last time I checked, that adapter was like $300. I'll stick with tilt!

Thanks for the Kuat recommend @Silverman I hadn't heard of the twist lock and I also didn't know about the "Trail Doc" bike stand feature of the NV 2.0 rack which is really neat NV 2.0 Hitch Rack | Küat Racks | Bike Racks

My Swagman Chinook is holding up very well but it can be a pain to load different sized bikes on it. The tire cradles don't slide easily and getting the frame hold downs properly configured when you have a mens & ladies bike loaded can be a challenge as well because of the differences in top tube. The Kuat design seems superior and you definitely pay for the privilege, but if I need a 4 bike carrier in the future it'll be my first choice. Doesn't hurt that they look sharp too and even come in finish that looks similar to Gravity Grey :sneaky:

I have both a Kuat Sherpa and a 1Up USA rack. I prefer the Kuat. I would also recommend the 1Up though. Both are solid racks. I have been using Kuat racks for the last 10 years and the 1Up about 2 years. We needed a second rack one time and picked up the 1Up from a friend at a great price. We prefer the tray style rack over the hanging rack. My TT bike will not hang on a hanger correctly. The frame geometry is odd. Just my opinions. Use what works for you.
