• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone installed one of this on their Telluride? I'm thinking of buying one for our Telluride. Uvo sucks sometimes it takes a couple of minutes to start, which I feel is to long to start. Then it will only allow 1 log in. And to pay so much for a vehicle with a option to start from a key fob.... would this void a warranty?

Yup, some of the members have already.

What do you mean UVO allows only 1 log in?

Both my wife and I use the app on our phones. I also use the web portal at work since I can't bring my cellphone in our building.

I haven’t set my wife up yet but does she have her own account login? I tried to have her log into mine when we first got ours but I think we kept kicking each other out.

If you’re able to use it simultaneously with your wife, I guess the subscription sticks with the car?

I understand now what you're saying. And the answer is "no", you can't use the app simultaneously.

It would not allow me to make a login using my own email and password so I have to use my wife's if I wish to use it from my phone. As for from a computer (web portal) I have never tried that

Yep...thats what we do. Just share an account.

I’m also using the Accessorides version (Cell phone starting w/ takeover) and love it. Install was easy even though I’m not super technical and the app is orders of magnitudes faster than the UVO app.

That sound nice but I think my we would like to just go to using a key fob vs using the phone. But I'm going to look at it and talk with the wife and then we will decide thanks

What is the big attraction with remote starting “faster than the app”. I’ve seen this mentioned more than once 🤷‍♂️ I get most owners don’t like UVO but are you justifying your dislike for the app? Just trying to get the full picture here

I don’t know if all packages do but the one I have from them allows remote start from the fob as well. 3x door lock button starts the car.

I’m not trying to justify anything, personally. For me it only costing $39/year for starting from my phone vs. UVO’s absurd prices was more than enough for me to justify dumping UVO.
That said, it’s a nice bonus that the remote start is much quicker with the CL6 app. And it added remote start from the factory fob which I didn’t have on my 2020 SX. But my work parking lot is a block and a half away from my office downtown and with UVO I would routinely find that my car hadn’t even started yet. This was especially true when leaving places like grocery stores. Now I have fob start for places like grocery stores, and cellular for when in further away.
Maybe UVO has gotten better since I dropped it about 5 months ago but I have no regrets.
Edit: To add on a little, the actual app starts much faster and doesn’t make me log in every time which further speeds up my remote start process. UVO always made me login every single time. Little things that add up is all

Well my wife went to start ours yesterday before leaving the house it took over 3 minutes for it to start. This is the norm for our uvo app. And there is quite a bit that the app has an error and it doesn't start at all. So not really justifying anything. UVO just sucks in our experience and I don't care for it and I refuse to pay for a service that doesn't work as it should.

Yes, all versions give the OEM fob 3X lock to start ability as a base feature. Anything beyond that for more money is takeover, long range fob, longer range fob, or smartphone control.

I agree, not having to log in every time when you open a remote start app definitely saves time. Especially when internet or server speeds are slow.

KIA Access app used to take at least 2 minutes to start your car when I first used in January 2020. Basically a minute just to log in. Then another minute to send the command before the car actually started. Now it’s more like 10 seconds to log into Kia Access and 30 seconds to send the command before the car starts.

Still no match for CL6. About 5 seconds to open app, send command, car is already started. Arguably even faster to perform than 3X lock with OEM remote fob since most people have their phones on them (especially at home), but not their keys. Also avoids having to look out the window while using the fob to check it worked.

I always like to say the practicality of remote start from the OEM fobs are limited to use while at home. When you are anywhere else (shopping, eating out, walking to/from a venue or building) the OEM fob becomes useless because by the time you are within range to use it, you already almost reached walking to your car. Whereas a remote start app or long range remote would at least allow the car to become warm by the time get to your car.
