• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Had the car for a little over 3 months now. Have 5k miles after putting about 1k on a road trip last month. About to take another road trip that will be a bit longer coming in at 1.5k - 2k miles round-trip. What I am struggling with is trying to decide if I should rent a car or take the telluride for another road trip and put the miles on this car, with the wear and tear and depreciation I am not sure if it is worth it. The rental car would be similar size and class as the telluride so it would be similar MPG (if I went a class down maybe a bit better) and the cost for the week is about $470 for the midsize SUV and $600 for full size. $500-600 seems expensive but I guess that is the way things are with supply issues.

In a couple years a 2,000 mile difference won't make much, if any, difference in the value of the vehicle.

If you rent a vehicle be sure to account for taxes and fees, plus the optional damage waiver (which can add as much as $60/day to the cost). On a long road trip the chance for nicks, dings, scratches, and stains if greatly increased so you don't want to be fretting about it the entire trip.

Unless you are planing to sell it soon like below 20k miles then think about rental otherwise don't worry about miles. Comfort takes priority than miles.

Go ahead and enjoy your new investment...get on the road and ride out!

I agree, we bought them to drive them!! I'm taking a 2400 mile round trip in a September and can't wait to test out the tech and see some sights along the way.

What are you saving it for? 🤣

Telly wants to be driven.

Drive it 😋

use it. you have 10 year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. more if you bought into the extended warranty.

Pride of ownership! Drive it and enjoy it! Just make sure to keep up with the maintenance! Have fun!

Drive it, enjoy it, and as an extra bonus, you get to ruin the day for all those new Explorer, Durango, Range Rover, BMW, Highlander, etc. drivers who have to look at your Telly and think to themselves......what the hell did I do? What was I thinking buying this pig when I could have got that?!! ........we like to drive ours around and ruin their day.....:)

Have you priced car rentals lately o_O
It’s ridiculous! My department travels all over the country and needs rental cars at each destination. To give y’all an idea of the craziness in the rental car realm, not long ago in Tampa, FL the price of a subcompact from any of the major companies was roughly the same as a Lamborghini through Turo ($700/day)! Wound up renting a Mercedes S550 for only $180/day through Turo on that trip.

The price has come down in many areas, but those areas still have extremely low supply resulting in extremely long lines and overbooking. Just last week I had to scramble to find a vehicle on Turo as the one I’d reserved in Columbia, SC had been overbooked and no cars were available.

As a matter of fact, two days I had a couple guys in Atlanta that needed a rental. There were over 60 people in line to get to the counter resulting in a 1.5 hr wait, plus then another 1-2 hrs wait for a car to be cleaned. My guys wound up getting a 2021 Ram from Turo.

Seriously, drive it into the ground :)

I just took delivery of mine yesterday and it is amazing. “Couch on wheels” is absolutely the correct term. Whatever you rent won’t be as nice and you won’t feel as comfortable.
