• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Very nice! Was thinking of buying a similar set up but wanted to wait for Thule rails as well. How are the Kia rails?

Roof rails were already factory installed. I have the SX Prestige. I just installed OEM cross bars. They seems fine.

Yeah that’s what I meant...they seem to stand off the top quite a bit compared to the more low-profile options like Thule. Didn’t know if that would effect anything or not.

Any concerns about drive throughs or parking garages with the cargo carrier installed? I have Thule Force XT XXL on order from LL Beans Memorial Day sale, and I'm considering leaving it attached to the car during the summer months.

You definitely need to be very careful with the height clearance in the parking garages. The only issue I have with this is that I couldn’t go through automatic car wash places. I need to take it down before I’ll go to the car wash. It takes about 5min to take it off.

some parking garages won't allow you since an SUV with a cargo carrier is too high.

It's probably too risky then. Most likely I will also forget about the cargo carrier and drive in to the garage. My wife had already done this with Thule kayak carrier attachments. Luckily only the kayak carrier attachment took the damage.

My buddy back in the day was a bike hipster and would always have a fixie style bike on his roof rack. He forgot about it one day and drove straight into his garage to change his oil. Broke his bike and the rack, dented the garage door and his roof.

How was your MPG and wind noise level when driving with the Thule installed? Did you notice and difference in the handling as well?[/QUOTE]

I only drove couple days with this Thule cargo carrier and put it away. Driving around the town I didn’t notice any noise or handling issues. I didn’t have a chance take it to the freeway yet. I’m not sure how it will handle and what would be the MPG driving at 65-70mph.
I will let you know as soon as I take to the highway.

Did you ever end up installing the XXL cargo box? If so, would you recommend it for the Telluride?

I am trying to decide between XL and XXL for the added storage space.

Also between Motion XT and Force XT. I think the Force XT will have more useable space and won’t show scratches on the outside as much as the piano black on the Motion.

This comparison video did a pretty good job explaining some of the differences.

Unfortunately I have not had a chance to install XXL cargo box yet. I was going to use it for camping trips, but with covid we have skipped camping for the last 2 seasons. For my son's college move we were able to fit everything inside w/out need for the carbo box, but I'm sure he'll accumulate more stuff over the school year. My first use will be next year to bring him back home.

And I agree with you Motion XT will be more prone to scratches, and I don't know if Force XT is tougher and more reliable.
