Rubber smell after lengthy road trip

Seattle to Whistler BC for a weekend of skiing. Smelled a burned rubber smell after arrival and it lingered for just a short time. Smelled it again the next day but didn’t last long. Tire inspection was normal.

Less than 6000 miles on odometer. Maybe new surface coatings burning off? Maybe a loose hose? Under hood inspection revealed no issues with gaskets either. Base elevation at Whistler is only 2600 feet so probably not altitude related either. Anyone else experienced this?

I pretty frequently smell a mild burning rubber smell when I exit my car after driving, mainly in my garage. I took it to the dealer and they said that it is not unusual while breaking in the car. Strange though. 1000 miles this far.

It the smell of the radiator/heater hoses off-gassing.

It becomes less and less noticeable - I'll still smell it every once in a while in the garage with nearly 10k miles...

Likely will be more noticeable again for a while come summer when it's warmer outside.

Yes - this happened to the last new car I purchased and really concerned me. What I was told is that many cars have a coating on the new parts to preserve them during manufacturing from corrosion/rust. This slowly burns off as you drive it. Took my car about 5,000 miles for the smell to completely go away.

Yeah - my car smelled like it was on fire last week after a 25 mile drive. I did a thorough inspection to be sure. 1000 miles.

I'm still getting the burned rubber smell in the cabin on my 2020 Telluride after 13,000 miles. I thought it would have gone away by now. Just took it on a trip to NC and it was really noticeable. I checked under the hood while engine was still hot and didn't see or smell anything. This is the first new vehicle where the "break-in smell" has lasted this long.

40,000 never had the smell until the new tires, just noticed this smell after a few hours on the highway. now it’s noticeable after a cross town trip
