• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So I purchased these running boards and started the install process. I realized that there was an underbody felt cover that I had to move aside to install the mounting brackets. I drilled small holes in the pad where the bolts would go and installed the bracket over the felt (the washers are over the felt). Maybe the pictures might help.
After I installed it, I came to this forum and realized that some of you cut the pad to install it.
Will there be any problems with my install? Or do the brackets have to be flush with the underbody? I hope I'm making sense.

They should be fine. Unless you notice they are not straight. I had to cut mine so the bracket would sit flush along the lines of the car. Your brackets look a little different then mine. But if you have everything installed and tighten down you should be okay.
