• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Sad but grateful

I bet it was the unibody construction that prevented it from being worse. It looks like you have the towing package too. That could have helped as well. I have not taken delivery of mine yet, but, this is very reassuring that it is able to take such a hit. Do you know how fast the truck was traveling?

But, still, she was carrying precious cargo!! Thankfully, no one was injured. Although, I have to agree with one of the posters to watch for some unusual aches or pains.

Sorry for your loss. Good no one was seriously injured.

Many MInnesota dealers sell at Sticker price and Southwest has usually got cheap airfare, make an adventure out of it. Fly up and drive back. Looks like there are some in stock at metro twin cities dealers.

Jeff Belzer and Luther Kia if you are interested
Thank you for insight! Might have to do that!!

The driver said he was going 60 mph

That’s horrible. How did he not see the stopped vehicle?

😲So happy your family is okay. From the picture it makes you think it could have been a lot worse. Glad to know that those safety awards are justly granted also.

Glad your family is fine. Do cars get crash tested for rear end collisions?

Or the overhead flashing lights or the two flashing lights on either side of the road before the intersection! Just grateful

What usually happens, Distracted driving.

Yes they do. Lots of research into total crash ratings. Obviously - the front end crashes get the most press. But front, side, rear and roll over are all part of the overall rating.

Just wondering how your search went... I'm so sad that I'm in the same shoes, a lady swerved into my lane going down the interstate at 65. When I went down into ditch there was concrete that I hit. I was so impressed with the safety! Only injury being my left hand from impact of steering wheel. I'm at a loss for what vehicle to get if I don't find a Telluride. I had it exactly 6 weeks...

Glad you're relatively ok. All the best on your next vehicle search.

Sorry for your situation, we actually came out okay with our insurance, settlement, etc. My wife got a notification back in with our current dealer that we bought the original SX and he mentioned he had another SX Nightfall coming in shortly which we put a deposit in. We saved on the “price protection” aka markup on msrp from approx $5.5k to about $2k(felt bad I guess) That helped and we only went one day from when our Telluride was settled as total loss and our rental ran up. Truly blessed, we love the nightfall, even more than the initial SX, really great full for how it all worked out, has really grown on us. We talked a lot about moving away from our Telly as we had some keyboard issues early on, but the fact my wife and two kids walked away unscathed from a 65mph collision was a testament to get another, we are so very please. Good luck to you. Be strong and patient... I hope it all works out for you, please let me know

Next time someone swerves into your lane you should just perform a pit maneuver on them. No reason some moron not paying attention is gonna force me and my family off the road

Haha, easier said than done... I tried to keep car on road and as straight as I could, the impact ran me off. But great idea!

So happy to hear that all worked out for! A lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving day.

My wife and two young children were stopped at intersection when a Ford F-350 plowed into back of them at an intersection. Luckily the vehicle did it’s job and all walked away pretty much unscathed. Really crappy to try to have to figure out we are going to be able together another one as this one is likely totaled. Any advice on how to try to secure another one? Given we traded ours in at the dealership, not like we have another car on sides lines and State Farm only provides rentals for a capped time
Right now the vehicle replacement is the least of your worries.
Today, be thankful your family is safe and alive to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Tomorrow is a new start with your issues.
God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving.
