• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Off to the Kia dealer tomorrow to get an appointment for a windshield. This is the second one since July. Had the first one replaced with OEM glass at a shop covered by insurance. Going to Kia this time and have the replacement letter. We had the front window tinted after the last replacement so not certain if Kia will cover the tint reoplacement. Also don't know if they cover the recalibration of the camera. We'll see I guess. Anybody know if Kia will replace more than 1 for free?

I feel like there's a missing part of the story. Why so many windscreens? What's the reasons why?

Our Camry has 160k, mostly freeway..still original windscreen. ;)

Curious, what year and trim?

I think after the first replacement, they just take the windshield out and give you goggles
Hahaha I’m dying.. 🤣😂😂.. going to recommend this to my service advisors

Dealer's service representative was great. Replacement scheduled Wednesday and Kia will even pay for the camera alignment and new film tint. Representative hopes the new windshields are better. If not I have a good set of goggles.

Make sure the goggles have acoustic glass like the windshield. You know, so the cabin stays quiet...

I had a rock come out of "nowhere" yesterday an it left a huge mark on my windshield. I am pretty sure it came from a mower on the side of the road, but try to prove that one. It felt like I got punched in the gut when it happened. My Telly is only 3 months old. I have a glass company coming Monday to fill it in/fix it. I hope it works. The spot is high on the windshield out of my view and out of the path of the wipers. If the repair doesn't work or meet my standards then I will have to proceed with a replacement through an insurance claim. What are your thoughts if I need to replace? Glass company or dealer? Ugh!

Wow, these windshields seem very thin! I'm thinking replacement will be necessary unless they can fill it in time before it expands. Best of luck, I've been in your shoes many times. I've been 50/50 with safelite being able to fill in the rock chips for me.

Generally, anything bigger than a quarter, or something in your sightline, is not going to be fixed and will need a full replacement. I would suspect they will want to replace yours.

MY SECOND WINDSHIELD IN 7 MONTHS!!!
There is an issue with these 2020 Tellurides. Got a crack in my windshield in March 2020, got it replaced with the "goodwill" letter from KIA. I just got another crack this month (Oct 2020) and my dealership told me to send it to an auto glass shop to get it filled in (as the goodwill only applied to the first free replacement). I replied that there is a lawsuit going on in California (filed Aug 2020 - google it) about defective windshields. My dealership said they will ask Kia Canada...took 1 hour to hear back from them that they will replace it AGAIN. What does this tell you? They know there's something wrong with them. I'm inquiring if they know if this will be a different windshield or the same one as my other 2 I've had. Very interesting!!!

I have the same issue on my 21 . Small chip caused by road debris that spread into a crack. Kia Consumer Affairs is refusing to honor the goodwill replacement because mine is a 21 and supposedly it only applies to a 20. WTF!!!! It is the same car and no one has been able to prove an upgraded windshield

I am also fighting with them about fixing the highway vibration issue so at this point the car will likely be lemoned.

Cracking windshields have become an industry-wide issue.

Subaru has windshields prone to cracking in not only the Ascent, but throughout its lineup (class action).

There have been reports of cracking windshields in various Toyota models, but most prevalent for the Prius lineup (class action filed).
