• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Security Alarm wont stop going off!

I recently purchased a 2020 Gravity Gray Telluride and I absolutely love it! The only issue I have is if I leave the sunroof open or windows cracked to keep it cool the car alarm goes off consistently. Does anyone know if this is something that can be changed or disabled?
I had the same problem, and learned that the back seat occupancy system will set the horn on to alert that something has been left there. The system is so sensitive that it mistakenly detects movement and the horn cycles. I read in the owners manual that if the windows are left open, that a bug or wind could set it off. I just disabled the feature and the issue is gone.

Mine did the same thing when I got it.

The alarm kept going off when I left and locked the vehicle. Well it turned out that the Telluride has a sensor in the back that alerts you if you leave someone ( kids left in the vehicle) and walk away.

The dogs were setting it off. I had no idea because the salesman didn’t mention it. It can be disabled.
How do you disable it?

The answer is in post 13 in this thread from me!

I have the same issue. I was told the car detected motion. I did have the UPS truck one time, but the others, NO WAY. I think it is an issue. I am going to test it out when I get a second.

I’m having the same problem. Same color

Wow Did these people even have a sales person to show features for the car?

Sales people are typically clueless and most people also don’t RTFM!!

My SX same deal... if windows are open the rear passenger warning goes off... happened twice to me... i've disabled it.

From Page 4-22 of the user manual:

You can activate or deactive the ROA from the User Settings mode in the cluster LCD display. (this is the one behind the steering wheel). The option can be found under the following menu:

User Settings --> Convenience --> Rear Occupant Alert

Same problem here. I had car seats in the back and even with no movement inside the car, the alarm would go off whenever the car was locked with the windows open. Doesn’t make sense to me, as I’d think for safety you’d often want the windows open if someone was in the back, but anyway... Thanks for posting the fix, it’s far more helpful than the owners manual or dealer explanation

It’s the rear seat occupancy detector detecting air movement with windows or sunroof open, I solved this by shutting it off.

My alarm keeps going off at work, I already disarmed the motion sensor. It is still happening. Very Frustrated.

To confirm, you disabled the ROA setting in the screen behind the steering wheel?

User Settings --> Convenience --> Rear Occupant Alert

This resolved for other users, if it's disabled, then looks like a trip to the dealer is warranted.

Why would open windows set off the ROA?
Probably there is enough breeze to move something around, and cause the sensors to detect the movement. I am not sure how sensitive they are, I know I get the warning on the center council most times I get to check because I have my toddler car seat back there, even if he is not in the seat I get the warning. So presumably it detects really small amounts of pressure or movement.
