• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I picked up my Telluride 1 1/2 years ago. Since I have had it, there has been a bit of lag between pressing on the accelerator and the power engaging. Recently it has gotten significantly worse.

When pressing on the accelerator gently there is a lag but it is not very noticeable. Pressing harder, when accelerating to merge or to pass there is a noticeable lag, sometimes up to a couple of seconds. Changing driving modes does not make a difference.

I have read the threads on transmission failures, and they mostly deal with the transmission shifting into neutral or not engaging.

Have many others experienced a shifting lag issue? How did Kia fix it?

Brought it to a dealer and they said they could not reproduce the problem and that some lag is normal. They reset the software for the transmission however it did not make much of a difference.

I've had it happen, especially when I very rarely stomp on it to pass someone. 99% of the time I'm just going with the flow so any lag isn't an issue. Haven't had a dealer diagnose it though. I bought my 2021 new in January and I've got 23000 miles now. Thinking of getting a Pedal Commander to eliminate this occurring again.

I just searched for this topic as I am having the exact same issue. When I Press hard on gas it takes a few seconds of gear searching before any power gets transferred to the wheels. It doesn't make you feel safe. It's like it doesn't know what gear it should go into.

I had the same issue with my 2020 and my 2022. I was told has to do with the electronic pedal. It's almost like a stutter at times when you take off.
