  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just signed the paperwork for my new Telluride @ MSRP w/ a dealer in Kentucky, but they said I need to find my own shipper to get it shipped to me in Los Angeles. Could anyone recommend a good shipper?

I've also heard other people getting good price using uship.

You have to look carefully and weigh your options. Most websites are really brokers, where your shipment is posted for any carrier to take it. I have used Uship before and been decently happy with the carriers who ultimately transported my vehicles. The communication has been hit or miss.

Regardless, for a new vehicle, I would recommend paying the extra for an enclosed auto transporter. It protects your vehicle from the elements.

My last shipment was through Intercity Lines, and I would use them exclusively in the future. They are pricey, no doubt. But they are their own carrier and are well known for transporting high end cars. I was absolutely thrilled with their service, and it was the first time I had zero worries during transport. I do not think it worthwhile to skimp a few hundred on shipping a car.
