Shock springs on Non-Tow VS Tow Package

I have a SXP non-tow package and looking for stiffer springs since there is no aftermarket suspension get.

Doesn’t anyone know if the springs on the Tellurides with the the Tow Package/Self leaving shocks has a stiffer spring rate to carry more load than the non-tow ones? I’m looking to swap it out on mine if it can all work.

I'm personally going to install Air-Lift 1000, to adjust ride height when loaded up.
 
I hope they have suspension soon for these cars.

It's basically $100 for the kit.. I suspect you could get someone to install such a thing for around $200 or so.

If your mechanical at all, have time/patients, it apparently is something that's not that hard to do, there are videos and such. Mine is supposed to arrive this weekend, but I probably won't get around to doing the install until next weekend. So right now , I'm only going by what I've read.

Definitely post pics and a review. I’m sagging with my camping load. But still drives me and able to make it over some terrain.

The OE Mando standard shocks and the OE Mando (assuming they aren’t Nivomat) self leveling shocks don’t have any published specs. By all accounts the upgraded suspension does not increase cargo capacity.

If I were ready to do it right, I wouldn’t buy the tow package and take the Telluride to an aftermarket truck shop and have them spec it out properly. They would be able to spec good aftermarket shocks and struts rated for what you need. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bilstein makes a universal fit that just requires an expert to measure to determine which will work.

Then if you want to add air suspension to really go crazy add something like the Jeep Grand Cherokees have with Quadra Lift. Especially if you have that monster spare tire hanging off the hitch and making use of a rooftop tent. You don’t want the bottom to hit something while camping offroad. A proper adjustable suspension will give you a lift (literally) when you need it for the terrain. AirLift helper bags will only ever help you get back to something close to normal drive height. But for the camping that @Alonzo_Tigerhart appears to be doing you may want to add something more substantial. Although looking at your picture I’m impressed by the performance on the standard shocks. Two questions, what size are the tires? Where do you put your license plate?
