• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Folks I have the 2020 telluride with 42k miles on it with regular service at recommended intervals. Today while pulling it out of the garage with cold start the car shook violently and backed out to drive way. I switched off the ignition and tried starting it again. It does not start. It shows the engine symbol on the dash.

Any idea what could be the issue. Bad time to have this issue on a thanksgiving weekend. I have to wait until Monday to get it toes to the dealership

Check engine oil level.

Thanks I just checked it’s lower than the last dot. Do I top it up a bit and try? How many ounces ?

Not sure why it’s low since I still have time for next service. Do u think oil leak?

The distance between the full line and the next line down is 1 qt/L. So if it's twice the distance, it would be aprox. 2 qt. low. Still shouldn't knock, as 2/3rds. still there.

Is there oil on the dipstick, or is it dry?

Sorry but there's a lot to infer and try to make any sort of guess.

The shook violently, leads me to believe it's locked up. However that might not be the case. We need a bit more information. Did it stall and refuse to start. It the engine flooded or the like? Cranks just fine just doesn't catch?

OR You turn the key and NOTHING happens.

It refused to start. Today called the tow truck and he tried starting it started… Any way still got it toed to the service… Let’s see what they say. I do not drive it not know what I might damage

Yes there is oil but dirty

Got my Telly back. Apparently one of the ignition coil was malfunctioning causing it to misfire. They would not take care of it since it does not come under 10 yr powertrain warranty. I had to use my extended warranty to take care of it. Runs good now. $200 in expenses in total.
